Green Bay Packers safety/linebacker Josh Jones announced this morning that the Packers were cutting him ahead of the 2019 NFL season — the first of many cuts to come for each of the NFL’s 32 franchises. In the specific case of Josh Jones, the silver lining is clear: he shouldn’t need long to find new work.

And the Miami Dolphins should most certainly be interested. Jones is a third year player out of North Carolina State — the Packers drafted him 61st overall in the 2017 NFL Draft and through two seasons Jones was irregular on the field.

Honestly, Im liking the way our D is looking.

I'd love a pass rusher if we could find one.

If we could get some more talent on the oline this team could surprise people.

Great athlete who obv hasn't put it together, but he was a pretty good college player, and he has the physical tools to cover in Man, which this staff likes from its Safeties.

Great athlete, good size speed combo. Basically in the same mold as Baker. I believe he ran in the low 4.4’s! Wouldn't mind having 3 aggressive undersized linebackers with great speed as long as we have a few more prototypical sized ones as well for different defensive packages!

I’d like to keep a close eye on Dwayne Smoot from jacksonville.. with the talent that line has the former third round pick may shake free.I think he’s ready to break out.

I agree Smoot is a guy who'd be a potential upgrade to the DE rotation.

He was a guy that a lot of people on here liked in that 2017 draft. Talented and worth a punt for a rebuilding team. This is the type of player we should be going for.

Certainly would rather see him get snaps at safety over Bobby McCain.
I like the idea of Josh Jones playing LB in the 5-6-7 DB package.
