The Baltimore Ravens have released offensive guard Alex Lewis, according to Lewis’ Instagram profile on Monday morning. The Dolphins should be ringing Lewis’ phone off the hook this morning in an effort to get Lewis in town for a workout. Why? Lewis has only started 10 games over the course of the last two seasons — why would he possibly be a high priority target for Miami?

Don't know if he is any good or not, but it sure would be "the patriot way" as described in the article

I read he was released after passing his physical and thought the same thing. He is an experienced body at a position of need.

"Lewis opened training camp on the physically unable to perform list after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. The Ravens releasing Lewis indicates he passed his physical.

Lewis started 10 games at guard for the Ravens last season after missing the entire 2017 campaign following shoulder surgery. His tenure in Baltimore ends after 18 career starts in two healthy seasons.

The Ravens left guard spot is the shakiest position battle in Baltimore. The tenuous nature was why some reporters believed Lewis had a shot at regaining the job despite missing the start to camp."

The Ravens weakest position on OLine was guard. And yet Lewis failed to start, and failed to make the roster. We should definitely check him out and consider options, but those facts do not give me much hope for an upgrade with us.

He's played. I wouldn't say he's played well.

I think they're going to continue with the youth movement.

He made 18 starts in 3 years missing one season entirely.

I would not call him reliable.

Couldn't hurt to throw him in the mix but I would not count on the guy.

Bring him in as a camp body and at the very least suck any intel dry... and if he sticks great, and if he doesn't, well at least they got SOMETHING out of him.

He's the type of player we used to bring in all the time but times are different now. I'd go with who we have for now

He’s a jet. Gase and co putting all their eggs in a basket this year. Actually gave up a conditional 7th to get him.

So he wasn't released if they traded for him?

27. A body. If they are young and cheap, get them into camp. Why not?
