The Dolphins have shown "consistent interest" in Utah CB Sean Smith, according to the Miami Herald.
However, the Herald considers him a "second-round prospect" and Smith looks pretty certain to be drafted in round one. The ideal size corner at 6'4/214, Smith runs in the 4.47-4.50 range and offers outstanding ball skills.

....oh boy.

LOVE IT!

Morgan Trent locked out 23 reps at the combine...

Strength isn't one of Morgan Trent's issues.....not giving up touchdown passes is one of Morgan Trent's issues....lol

Funny.

The Dolphins have some interest in Sean Smith.

Although with him writing this, he'll have jinxed that pick.

I would be thrilled with Sean Smith in the first. I just hope there isn't an early run on CB's.

Per Mike Mayock:

10. If you need a cornerback in this draft, sit it out. There are no corners even well above average, never mind great.

I think there will be few CB's taken in round 1, perhaps 2 or 3

Well, the way I look at it is if you are good you are good no matter if you end up as a Safety or Corner. Get good players at any cost.

I think comparing the two players on physical makeup alone may not be the best idea. It was said that Alen had issues diagnosing plays and reacting when he was in college. He had issues cycling through information and that has translated to the NFL, as he has the physical skills, but can't stay on the field.

Has that been said for Sean Smith?

It wouldn't break my heart to get Sean Smith/Butler in the first and Alphonso Smith in the second...we would be set for years to come. I am not as high on Davis as he has great talent but doesn't seem to have his head together.
