Dolphins sign CB Kendall Sheffield

Lol the last two posers having a meltdown. Do you guys know what he was asking for? Let me guess 10 million over two years guaranteed.

What is wrong with Grier, McDaniel, Weaver, or all of them?

Last couples of years , having one of the most inconsistent lines, we obviously needed O-Line help, but according to Greir and Coaches, we were fine, and no reason to panic, while bringing in 2nd and 3rd rate talent...Now we're about to have a horrible secondary, have no real CB we can realistically count on, and seems Grier again believes fans should chill out because their no as nervous about their secondary...Please show some priority, learn from your mistakes Grier, and start bringing in capable talent to start, not backup.

Please tell me there is an actual plan to fix secondary...Please tell me we have better talent soon to come in.
Sure they can go sign a couple pro bowl CBs to the kind of contracts those guys demand. Only requires about 6 more void years each for Tua and Tyreek. Oh there aren't any major upgrades out there at CB? No problem let's also trade a pair of future 1s and 2s to get them from other teams, before giving them the aforementioned deals.

Not sure what people expect. This roster has a lot of holes. The team addressed some and have to lick and pray on some other until next year. That's life in the NFL building a good team top to bottom is really hard and happens incrementally if it does. I like our youth movement in the secondary along with an upgraded defensive front. There is still room at add a journeyman veteran or two if major deficiencies become.apparent, but I'm not expecting any high level additions for the simple reason they aren't out there at a cost we have the cap space for. On the other hand I am expecting more turnovers from our secondary along with them giving up a few more big pass plays. There is no getting around the need to score points when we have the ball.

I sure hope they don't trade for any more players, at any position.

Right now they just need to sign ONE quality vet that can get them through this year, and allow the young players to compete, and start growing to maybe, hopefully becoming a starter. Miami has no starting quality talent right now, but they do have quite a bit of solid DBs with potential.

There are still quite a few Vets out there, offer them a 1 or 2 year contract where they can prove themselves to a better contract, with hopefully one of the young players on Miami proving themselves, even if none do, then (Can't believe I would say this), use Artie Burns, he is nowhere the player he was expected to become, but he can still be a satisfactory 2nd CB...Hopefully with much better pass-rush, it will make it easier for our secondary, but we need a corner with better experience and talent.

They're absolutely going to see what they have in all of their young CB's . Maybe it's playable and they don't have to focus on it next draft.

I really don't know what we have in the secondary this year, but it sure seems like a crapshoot. If the front 4 can pressure it's going to be a less glaring weakness regardless.

2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about KENDALL SHEFFIELD: Ohio State, 5113 193 4.40. Junior entry and first year starter from Missouri City, TX. Was a red-shirt at Alabama in 2015 before transferring to Blinn Junior College the next season. Joined Ohio State in 2017 playing in sub packages. Has blazing straight line speed and flashes an explosive burst to close. Used primarily as a press corner he has the ability to turn and run stride for stride on a vertical route. Will use a pedal in off and press and he’s a little jerky in movement, but is quick to turn and run if cushion breaks. If separated can be explosive in recovery mode catching up quickly. At times can be physical with jam and hold a receiver up. In off coverage and zone flashes sudden break and drive on short throws underneath. Needs to work his hands better to shed blocks as he can lay back or try to slip it. Tackling is inconsistent. Can be beaten off the line on a quick step and go as he will bite on the first move. Plays from behind more than his speed dictates. Catch up speed can save him but at times separation is too great. Route recognition is subpar. Struggles to find the ball in phase and has given up several touchdowns while in position. Has some tightness which is covered by recovery burst. Sheffield has explosiveness and speed needed but techniques, instincts and recognition skills are lacking. Enough upside to draft. 2018 stats: 35 T, 2 TFL, 8 PBU, 1 FF, 2 INT. Medical exclusion at Combine. Fifth/sixth round. (A-31 1/2, H-9 1/2, VJ-DNP, SS-DNP).
