The Dolphins' attempts to improve their kickoff and punt coverage units have already begun. Safety Courtney Bryan, who served as one of the team's better special teams players last year as a rookie, rejoined the team Monday.
Bryan played in 12 games last season in a reserve role, but his contributions in coverage were often helpful. He had six tackles in a Dec. 23 matchup against New England, when he also recovered a fumble by Tom Brady.
Bryan joined the Dolphins in 2007 as an undrafted free agent, but he was released in training camp this year.
To make room for Bryan, the team released safety Brannon Condren.
