Dolphins sign James Daniels

My only concern is that he tore his achilles last year and only played 4 games. I guess thats why we got him at a bargain of $8M annually.

Blown out Achilles ended season last year, torn pectoral the year before. Right up Grier's alley
He tore his pec in 2020. He played in all 17 games in 2021 and 2022. He played in 15 games in 2023 (he missed weeks 4 and 5 with a groin injury). He tore his Achilles week 4 in 2024.

Does he have an injury history? Sure. But it is not true that he is coming off back to back major injuries.

They signed him to a 3 year contract. Even if it takes him half of next season to get back to top form, you have an all pro caliber guard for 2 and a half more seasons.

He tore his Achilles Week 4 in 2024 (9/27). I wouldn’t be shocked if he misses training camp. He might even start the season on the PUP list. Very few guys come back like Phillips did in 10-11 months.

Phillips tore his Achilles 2 months later in the season than Daniels did. Phillips tore it 11/24 which makes it impressive but Daniels should be fine having a 2 month cushion.

I'm glad they didn't completely ignore it for once, at least. Still keen on drafting OL 1st round though.

I don’t think we throw big money into the other guard position, Daniels was our big signing on the line. Resign Wynn maybe someone cheap with potential like Trystan colon or a stop gap like Laken Tomlinson. Tomlinson was a pro bowler under McDaniel as OC in 2021. Both should be near vet min.
