dolphins sign larry johnson

Ricky burned the bridge after the season, and both needed to go different ways. Plus, Ricky wouldn't be happy as the third string tailback.

I see it as it's business...both sides needed to move past it already and handle it maturely, cause Ricky's best fit was back on this team as a 2 or 3.

Vermeil to Johnson: "Take the diapers off"

I haven't been too vocal or really very upset about many of the moves made by the FO this offseason but this one really bothers me. My hate of LJ is bordering on personal. I watched every single play that Johnson made while in KC and let me tell you what he does well... Nothing.
(I guess that's not fair, the women he dates say he has a mean right hook.)

Ok, now let me tell you what he does not do well. Catch, Block, Run, Jump, Practice

His pro-bowls are the result of running behind one of the great O-Lines in NFL history. That line was elite in any decade and as long as LJ didn't trip over his own shoe laces he was all but guaranteed 100 yards per game.

The last thing I want is for one of our young RB's to learn anything at all from this over-rated chump as a couple previous posters stated as the positive thing to take from his signing.

Sorry, I usualy try not to be too negative but this has me absolutely disgusted. He was a loser in his "prime" and is a loser now.

From what they saw against Carolina, they don't trust DT yet in goalline situations. If LJ can succeed in short yardage and not fumble, then the signing is not a big deal. Plus, it may make Polite expendable and preserve a roster spot for Grigsby or Moore.

Some ppl are just plain dumb. Think outside the box for a change! DT is not getting replaced by LJ. Bringing LJ in was only for some veteran presense. DT was deprived of most of the offseason due to the lockout. You telling me LJ can't show him a thing or two? For those saying LJ was wack in his prime and still wack now plz sit down. Any linebacker around during this guys prime was either run over or ran past. Sure the guy had some issues in the past but I think we are living in the NOW. Vick was tieing up dogs in his backyard. Plaxico shot himself in the leg. But this guy can't come in and run a few downs to give reggie and DT a break during the game? Get Real.

Go Phins!

Folks, this regime NEVER liked Ronnie Brown, despite what they said. They’ve tried to trade him for two years.
Also, Ricky Williams was too difficult of a personality to deal with.
They rolled the dice with larry Johnson. He’s their Marion Barber type since Daniel Thomas wasn’t cutting it.

Would rather have Clinton Portis. LJ had two good seasons his entire career 4 years ago.

Omar speculating again. This signing has absolutely nothing to do with DT. Nothing. Wasnt cutting it?..He looked pretty damn good the other night. Omar is a moron who spins whatever he wants to work for his agenda. This signing is a depth signing, nothing more or less. He is not taking over for DT...if he even makes the team, he will most likely be a short yardage back and get a few carries here and there.

Edit: Sorry I meant to post Omars quote from your post...I wasnt attacking your post just Omars...my bad

I can't believe I'm asking this, but does anyone know if Larry Johnson has any connection with Reggie Bush? The reason I bring this up is because my girlfriend informed me this morning that Larry Johnson had some kind of relationship with Khloe Kardashian, obviously long before she was with Lamar Odom. This would have been when Reggie and Kim were together. I'm not sure if anyone knows anything about this. Frankly I wouldn't expect anyone on this forum to, but you never know. Perhaps Reggie was instrumental in bringing in his boy LJ and they might work well together?

Pot meet kettle... You've clearly never watched him play. Otherwise, if you had the slightest bit of intelligence, you'd see he was garbage, even in his supposed "prime". His so called success was the product of running behind an elite O-line as I've already pointed out.

Actually Ricky has said he chose Baltimore over other teams because he would get LESS carries there. I think he would be very happy with limited playing time.

Also, I would choose a guy who said his coach "micromanaged" too much over another loudmouth guy that really hasnt played in a few years. This is just poor planning by our FO. I'm pretty sure there is a younger guy out there that will get cut from another team that will be better than LJ.

The guy watches a few youtube videos and all of a sudden he is a Kansas city expert. Sit down fool. So according to your theory I guess Priest Holmes was garbage too right? I can agree and say a good oline makes a RB better. However once ur past the line of scrimmage your on ur own! I'm a phins fan and my attention is on MIA on Sunday. But I'm also a fan of the game. I'm not starting a LJ fan club but the guy runs hard u can't deny that.

I live in KC ya a** clown. Trust me in that I know more about that team than any poster on FH. I tivo the KC games and after watching Miami at the bar I always watch KC. Try checking a posters location before spouting off at the mouth.

Priest was special but was boosted up by that elite O-line. LJ was garbage who's numbers were inflated by that same line. Do you really think it's a coincidance that LJ was practically never heard from again once that line disbanded? Do you think at all? It's not like he was injured or anything. I certainly can deny that the guy runs hard considering I watched every play he ran in KC. Have you EVER watched him run. Oh yeah, that's right... Youtube. Sit down clown.

Whoa whoa didnt mean to offend u EXPERT. Wasn't aware that ppl in Orlando, FL (shout outs) weren't allowed to watch the KC games. Ill remember that next time I'm at Buffalo wild wings (shout outs) watching the rest of the NFL teams. You can't say ur oline made these guys the athletes they already were. That's just crazy. The oline helped Holmes with his growth as a player. But gave him the skills that got him in the league no way! I'm not saying LJ is the greatest but he was holding it down for the city for a lil bit. No matter how short of period it was he showed some skill. Mix in some domestic violence. A little probation. A splash of suspensions. There goes his career. If u watched EVERY single play LJ has ran u can't say he is GARBAGE. A disappointment yes but not garbage. It was only a joke at first but maybe we all should go to youtube and refresh our memories a lil bit. If this guy can come in and pick up 3 to 5 yards here and there I say good pick up. Its a gamble no doubt about it. But last time I looked at the depth chart so are the rest of the RBs.

I never said you weren't allowed to watch KC games. I inferred that you didn't watch KC games based off your clear lack of talent evaluation.

So you really think he couldn't find a home on an NFL team because of his off the field problems? Riiiiight, cause that's always a concern with NFL front offices
