Dolphins will be signing a long snapper today. Camp competition for John Denney that he's expected to win.

@MiamiDolphins have signed long-snapper Winston Chapman. First NFL contract for Chapman, who played at Mississippi State from 2012-15

John Denney is a free agent. He isn't going anywhere after 10,000 years with the Dolphins.

Shouldn't that be Sir John Denney?

Dude has been elite at his position since .... 1970's ??

I'm a fan of keeping denney until he retires. Love the guy if only for his dedication to the team

Perfect example of someone without all the physical tools other athletes possess grinding and finding his niche within a team. Great player and teammate.

I remember when we signed a young whipper snapper named John Denney, and he wasn't supposed to supplant Ed Perry- Dolphins Long Snapper for Life. It's about time for that cycle again.

Some say John Denney was playing before the wheel was invented, some say hes not even a real person, just a ghost, some say...

Denney is a free agent so maybe we won't even re-sign him, hence the signing of a long snapper.

Also Denney turns 39 years old after the season begins so he is getting long in the tooth.

Gotta be one in every crowd.

The last active player from the 72 Dolphins, still finding his way.
