Dolphins sign QB Tyler Huntley from Ravens practice squad

I’m fine with this for one reason. I think the gameplan needs to be “run the ball”, but if you can sprinkle in a little “playground” aspect to it, it would be helpful. Give me something unpredictable, like a QB that can buy time with his legs and let Tyreek and Waddle run around a little and get behind the defense.

Although, after our Club Med training camp, Waddle and Tyreek will need to miss a series if they have to run around a little.

People need to realize that historically, acquiring a backup during the year has never saved a team’s season. The cases where backups have replaced an injured starter and won the Super Bowl; Morrall, Hostetler, Warner, Brady, Foles, they were already the team’s backup.

If your hope and/or belief is that Tua is coming back, and that all Miami needs to do is stay afloat until then, then it’s going to be Skylar Thompson who accomplishes that.
Joe Flacco saved the Browns season last year. Not asking Huntley to lead the team to a championship, just want him to do a better job than what we've seen from Thompson and Mike White before.

Some of you guys got my hopes up w all of this positivity about Huntley and his pro bowl appearance.

He’s started 9 games in his career, never more than 4 in a season. He’s played in 20 games and thrown a whopping 8 TDs. His record of 3-6 is the same-ish as Mike White and Skylar and he had the benefit of playing on better teams w Baltimore.

He looks like he sucks. **** you guys 😂!!!

PS
How was he an alternate for the pro bowl playing 4 games?

Not sure how long he even holds up

Maybe I missed it, but has it dawned on anybody that for however long Tua is out, Huntley is a better back-up option than Boyle?
Along that line of thinking, this does give us an out if Skylar stinks up the joint. We aren't pulling Skylar for Tim Boyle. We can pull Skylar vs Tenn in a 6-3 game for Huntley.

Imagine hating 1 individual so much that you want your team to have a devastating season that will set them back 2 years.....just so that person gets fired. Maybe I misunderstood what it means to be a fan. I'll go double check
Not that I agree with the sentiment, but if one believes there is no hope, ripping off the band aid, so to speak, might be the best thing in that person's mind.

Tim Boyle needs to go. You can’t come back from the Hell Mary play he threw up last year. That **** is career ending.

lol. Man, I actually had him in my original post, but removed him when I figured people would argue that the Brown’s season was still a failure.

I dont think its his record they are happy about, its how he fits into Miami's scheme. Baltimore was different as teams would have to account for the running QB and one who is not as good as Lamar would suffer. Here, much different story. A mobile QB with average arm strength and accuracy will f*ck up entire gameplans for other teams. It was the one thing Tua is missing that is sorely needed, mobility.

I'm a little shocked that we're two weeks into the season and Tua is the only AFC qb to have a 300+ yard passing game. Only 5 qbs in the entire league have reached to 300 yard mark. Seems like the game is changing overnight. Intresting that it happens the same year JIm Harbaugh returns to the league. Teams around the league are playing Harnaugh style offense.

My larger point was more that if the Dolphins are going to get through this period, it’s going to have to be because Thompson plays well enough to win, because Huntley isn’t going to be the starter.
