Dolphins sign QB Tyler Huntley from Ravens practice squad

Not promising
Guys plucked from practice squads usually aren't looked at as promising. At the minimum he offers a different look. There are a lot of quarterbacks out there like Skylar Thompson and even more (ugh) like TIm Boyle. Not sure what bringing in someone like them would have done. I know C.J. Beathard was looked at, but IMO he's a guy similar to Skylar Thompson (although, IMO, a little better than Thompson...a little).

I'm not knocking Huntly, probly our best bet other Skylar

FWIW, I expect if Huntley does get into the lineup this year for the Fins you are going to see even more screens and short passes. He's not going to beat you throwing down field. That said, running play action with him could be effective as we do have good backs and he can run it himself.
Huntley had a 7.11 AY/A last season.

Tua has a 6.26 AY/A so far this year, and before McDaniel, Tua had a 6.24 AY/A in 2020 and a 6.50 AY/A in 2021.

I'd say Huntley is plenty capable of throwing the ball down the ifeld.

I suspect Huntley wouldn't have signed without believing he'd have a real shot at long term roster spot. The only reason he was on the Ravens practice squad was he was a late cut after signing with Cleveland in the off season. If I remember correctly, the Browns tried to trade him prior to cutting him. Then the Ravens signed him back to the practice squad.

the pro bowl is a joke and it has been for years.....I haven’t watch it since the 80's when it was actually a real football game
We still have a Pro Bowl? lol. I've been ignoring about as long as you have.

Census says this is a good signing. Looks like between all the draft picks showing some promise, plus some decent college free agents making the team recently Grier may have found so.w decent scouts at last.

The most fun game was the old College all stars versus the NFL champ… pre Super Bowl/AFL. One year the college guys beat the Packers, I believe.
That was an enjoyable endeavor. These days though, we can't get many of the best college players to even play when it is college vs college. College kids have to believe, IMO, that they can significantly improve their draft stock before they play in all-star games.

A bit late. 3 starters gone or injured. Williams, Wynn, Hunt…one replaced… barely.
I accept there are some here who strongly disagree but I feel Brewer is at least equal to Williams in our offense. So, I see it as more than a 'barely' replacement. The biggest loss was Hunt of course. I was hoping we'd draft Christian Haynes as a plug-and-play RG, but I can see the logic in taking Paul too.

When Tua comes back, cut Skylar or put him on the PS, keep Huntley as the #2, draft OL with the first 2 picks next year and add a few in FA, roll with Tua and Huntley in 2025, then draft a QB in the first round in 2026 unless Tua has stayed healthy the entire time, if so, still draft one early on.
Switch Tua for Zach Wilson and I'm on board. I honestly have more faith in him than Tua

While Huntley looked ok in Baltimore, he’s the complete opposite of Tua. I don’t think we will be able to utilize Hill/Waddle much but maybe we can implement a new scheme around the rbs in the event Huntley plays.

I don’t believe this is a guy that is expected to start over Skylar. I do expect Tua back in a few weeks based on this signing.

No way. The Mannings love the NFL, college is just the stepping block to it. Arch may even have a degree after 3 years, if not he does a few more classes later on and get. He won't ever need it anyway. The Manning's family businesses is football (and commercials). He will play in the NFL they be talking about in after he retires.

I will also add college football is a mess right now. It is semi pro with really no rules. Get paid by NIL leave to other teams when you feel like it. They will advise ArCh to get out of that cess pool as fast as he can.
The thing about the Mannings they pick and choose where they land in the NFL

He would not agree to play in Miami
