Dolphins sign RB LaMichael James

I wonder if Moreno is not really coming back soon but it could be for returns. I think landry does a good job getting yards but the handling of the football has to get a lot better

Not a bad signing on paper; remains to be seen what he can bring to the Offensive and Special Teams parties. IMO, he's got some recognition so if we put him on the PS, he'll get snatched as soon as the first RB goes down, and you can expect some will. Hope this doesn't impact D. Williams. IMO he'll be replacing Darkwa.

Any comparison to Sproles...is silly.

You might need to mute it. That's a highlight video. Again, I'm not getting excited over this.

I love this kid. He doesn't just make the first guy miss, 9 times out of 10 they don't even touch him. He's about the same size as Sproles. He looks to have great hands, like Sproles. He takes those short steps, like Sproles. And nobody seems to want anything to do with him, like Sproles earlier in his career.

Sproles is a tough son-of-a-gun even though he's little.

James needs to put on 20 pounds of muscle to even be in the conversation -- and muscle still doesn't equal toughness.

I will say this for James: He's the kind of player that Lazor can scheme in space -- and make plays.

Miami desperately needs players that can play in space and make teams pay for game-planning against Wallace.

Miami also needs TEs with better ball skills, more physicality and mismatch ability. Sims TD was almost a comedy of errors. One announcer called it a "great catch" but it's an easy catch if he isn't so slow to the ball or lumbering w. his body. And he backs that up by a total boneheaded play on the INT.

James isn't a great player but he's got some skills that can bring one or two chunk plays a game.

Agree 100%...I'd thank you if I could.

I don't think I'd cut Darkwa if James is activated from the PS. I think we would cut Thigpen. Darkwa will get cut when Moreno returns provided all the other RB's are healthy.

Edit- Never mind. I just saw that Thigpen is on the PS, and not the active roster.

Mmm. Haha. Yeah.

If only we'd had a player like that on our roster some time recently. Maybe a player who was a blue chip type of mismatch guy who was picked at the top of the first round and led our team in rushing 2 years in a row, and could be signed to a cheap, home team friendly contract, and maybe we could scheme to use him better instead of asking him to run between the tackles? Not to mention a high character player with a tremendous work ethic?

Nah. Joe Philbin wouldn't squander somebody like that.

Letting Bush leave was dumb. Lazor could have worked wonders with his skill set.

Excellent RB depth. LaMichael James is probably the best PS RB possible. RBs get injured often, and having LaMichael James as our #5 or #6 RB pretty much ensures that our RB position is covered for the year, no matter who goes down.

I haven't studied the kid much, but I've never seen someone's legs move so fast, when he doesn't look to be going anywhere.

When I see him start the legs going, all I hear is this in my head:
