Dolphins Sign Ronald Fields

might be a trade soon to come

I was thinking the same thing. Miami already has excellent depth along the d-line. While Solai is the only TRUE (experienced) nose tackle on the roster, getting Fields provides insurance incase of injury to Big Paul Solai. Still, Miami does have players (Starks, McDaniel) that can play NT should injuries become a problem. That's why I'm thinking some sort of trade may be in the works.

What a mess of free agency for Miami. Instead of getting players to make the team contenders, we get strange free agent signings and Marshall talking about his personality disorder.

Lol very strange man lol. Like I said before all this started. Ireland and company owes us an explanation

One thing I was curious about last season that I never figured out, due to the Odrick injury, was what 3 linemen they would use in the 3-4. I think coming into the season Soliai was the biggest question mark and it would have been Odrick-Starks-Langford. But having proved himself last season, you have to pencil Paul in as the starting NT. So who is the odd man out in that formation?

It's not really a big deal since Nolan is a big fan of keeping the line fresh with subs. Just wondering

It is real funny watching you guys debate on a guy who started 16 games with the Broncos under Mike Nolan in 2009, when Denver had the 7th ranked defense in the league. If Mike Nolan wants him, we need to go get him . . . and we did. Stop bitching, there is nothing wrong with getting some NT depth on this team.
we can say bitching now? FinHeaven-1 John Beck-still at 0

Go back and read the post that you said stop bitching about. IMO they were tyring to figure out the reason denver let him go when they need d-linemen and if we picked him up to make a trade. NOT BITCHING. You are bitching about someone else, just sayin.

John Clayton
The Ron Fields to Miami signing is interesting. It's the third time DC Mike Nolan signed him. He did it in SF, Den and Mia.
Fields confirmed for Mike Nolan's love child

maybe I was a little rough :) Just a frustrating day weeding through some of these threads.

Not so fast. They signed Fields because the Dolphins cut reserve NT Chris Baker

----Dolphins waived/failed physical NT Chris Baker.
It's not hard to imagine that the (usually) 330-pound Baker showed up to camp out of shape. Baker appeared for just seven snaps on defense last season.----

Wow they cut Chris Baker . . . weren't they high on him last year. Goes to show you when you are a fringe player, you don't get the privilleges of a proven guy. You better bring your azz to camp in shape and ready to go.
