The Dolphins have signed Safety Ahmad Dixon to the practice squad and released DE Emmanuel Dieke from the practice squad. Dixon was a 7th round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2014 and played collegiately at Baylor. He is 6'0" 210. Ran a 4.48 in the 40 at his pro day prior to the 2014 draft. Known as a violent hitter who needs to learn to wrap up better as a tackler.

The current practice squad:

McLeod Bethel-Thompson ......QB.....6-3....230....3......Sacramento State
LaRon Byrd............................WR....6-4....220....2......Miami (FL.)
Matt Hazel.............................WR....6-1....202....R......Coastal Carolina
Jake Stoneburner...................TE.....6-4....252....2......Ohio State
Gerell Robinson......................TE.....6-3....240....1......Arizona State
Sam Brenner..........................C.......6-2....310....2......Utah
Mike Brewster........................C/G....6-4....310....3......Ohio State
Deandre Coleman...................DT.....6-5....315....R......California
T.J. Heath..............................CB......6-0....190...2......Jacksonville State
Ahmad Dixon..........................S.......6-0....210....R......Baylor

I've been saying it all along. McLeod Bethel-Thompson is the future of our team. MBT baby!

When you see a collection of talent and players who could step in and play now on a practice squad that tells me that there's alot of talent on this team. Obviously some depth needs to be replaced, but that's the most talented practice squad i thin k I have ever seen from the Miami Dolphins. Those are some really good college players, and we know Sam Brenner is good enough to play as depth, hopefully these guys can develop, that's what the PS is all about. Thanks for the post bro!

You're welcome

I think what is lacking for this team to make the next step is depth that can challange the starters at OT and OG. Garner is a not a ZB good fit, but he is a warrior and a good plug in replacement. Brenner has a weak base and gets bull rushed, I am not impressed. He has a big heart and aggression, but he cannot stay healthy. Brewster has some size, but can he play? More talent acquisition through free agency is needed to shorten the curve.
We also need bigger bodies at DT coming off the bench when we play the running teams that have big olines. Our dline is athletic but they get pushed off the ball far to often for my liking.
We also need back up LB's that can be run stuffers and play makers. Misi is good but he will not last. He gets kicked up to much. I like Jenkins, but we need more talent at LB.
Sturgis has been OK under 50 yards, but he is no offensive weapon. He cannot kick off to the endzone on every kick. He is mediocre at FG's and below average at kick offs. Upgrade needed.
I am not sure any of these P squad players can challenge the starters. I am not sold. They are just in case of emergency guys that cannot even make the roster at this point.
It will take a couple more drafts IMHO.
Hickey did a great job signing Albert, and finding James and Landry. A couple of other draft picks may turn out to be good as well. I trust him.

This guy is a headhunter, get him on the active roster pronto

Hickey needs to get our o-line fixed this offseason once and for all. He also needs to find a big powerful DT to name a couple areas.

Other than Hazel and Brenner, it feels like the rest of the practice squad has turned over in-season.
