Dolphins Sign T Marc Colombo

I think this is actually a decent signing . . . if it is for depth. Carey was banged up last season, Jake is on the PUP, Garner is coming back off of a year off from injury and we have him slated most likely as a guard and Murtha is literally hit and miss, we also have a few young guys around also . . . I don't see the harm in bringing Marc in and seeing if he can rekindle some of the solid form he showed when Tony Sparano was his line coach. I remember some of Finheaven's finest 2 years ago saying we overspent for Big Vernon and should have tried to look at Colombo instead as he would be cheaper and not much of a drop off. I don't watch Dallas as much as most, so I haven't seen how "terrible" he was last season, but let us consider:

The pass rush in the NFC East is much more wicked than the pass rush in the AFC East, and that seems to be where Marc struggled the most. He has WAY more experience at tackle than McQueezy had, and more success. As a depth signing, I think this isn't a bad one and I would atleast check him out in camp before we discard him. This really isn't a bad or good signing, just more depth for an OLine in which the past year and a half have been hit by some serious injuries.

Seriously, OLine is exspenisve, who in the hell were we going to bring in at a decent salary to compete with Carey/Long? Really sit back and think about it . . . all you can do is make sure you have enough bodies, and Colombo is a nice add to throw in with all the inexperienced tackles we already have . . . may the best men win.

Great camp signing. For those that do not know, you need enough Olineman to fill out three units. 1st 2nd and 3rd team. We have been practicing so far with 8, Pouncy makes 9, when Murtha and Garner are allowed to practice , that makes 11 so get used to it, we will sign more.

Only 8 or 9 of them are going to actually make the team guys.

i think we learned the past few years that we need some depth at OL. If Vernon goes down, who's gonna protect him? Lydon Murtha? I hope not. Columbo gives us a decent veteran depth. Just like if we sign Shaun O'Hara....and Pouncey goes down, we wont have to deal with Berger

Better Colombo than Murtha. He's just going to be depth... hopefully his knees work well enough.

Yeah, Murtha is on the top of my list of worthless Fins. Colombo isn't a bad signing.. as a backup.
