Dolphins sign TE Brett Backett to practice squad, Livas will not join Fins PS

damn you! :D I just double posted this.

Anyway, queue all the people internet-highfiving when they were bashing Omar because he said the phins were hiding him to stash on PS ;)

just delete my thread mods if you can!

blunder.

you watch, livas will be one of the FEW return guys doing anything under these new rules IF a team signs him and gets him out there to play for more than a handfull of plays in meaningless pre seasons games.

livas was one of the ONLY return guys who scored in pre season and most of those other guys are nfl vets!!

tony just asked way to much, to soon from livas and i have no idea why tony even bothered to bring him in.

We'll forget about this guy in a couple months when he's not picked up by anyone, unless he gets a gig in the Arena League.

Let's not assume they didn't offer. Sometimes players don't want to sign back with the team they've just been cut from. Sometimes they'd like to go elsewhere! They actually have choices. I **** you not, true story.

not to be nit-picking, but Livas scored on a punt return. nobody changes those rules

Glad to see Brackett back with us. A little concerning Livas won't be signed. Must of either been claimed or scorn from being cut. We have 6WO so may be he saw it as a bad future roster spot.

Exactly.

I don't think you waste a practice squad spot on a punt returner. And if he's on another teams practice squad the Dolphins could always sign him if they really wanted him.

i would not have been upset if he had ended on our ps. stick him there and see how far you can bring him along as a WR in a year. not upset he's gone either though. for as highly touted as he is on this board, if a fly sits down on one of his shoe-laces, Livas is going to stumble.

We were bashing Omar because he said we were hiding him from NewEngland, who we stole a TE from because they are loaded at TE.....no one was hiding him, not many teams would put this raw prospect on there 53 roster....he was a lock to make our PS

You can't give a guy a roster spot based on one nice play. It was a good return, and he only had a few opportunities other than that, but Little Scamper Legs doesn't contribute enough to warrant taking a roster spot from a guy like Marlon Moore just because he has speed.

And I guess they didn't see enough out of him in practice to warrant a PS spot either compared to the other guys.
