The Dolphins have signed tight end Aaron Halterman to a free-agent contract.

Halterman was briefly on the Dolphins' practice squad in October before being released and subsequently signing with San Diego, where new Dolphins coach Cam Cameron was the offensive coordinator. Halterman also played under Cameron at Indiana University when the latter was the Hoosiers' head coach in 2001.

I think we will see more of that.Saban had his favorites who he would give spots to in the practice squad even though their talent didnt merit it.We lost a couple of good prospects because of that. Can anyone remember their names ?

Its natural to be a little nepotistic in the situation of being a HC.

Pape quit on the team a couple of years ago so it is probably better for him to get a fresh start somewhere else.

Is CC turning the team into Indiana football? loll

AJ Smith runs the show there no matter who the coach is or isn't.

And that's a bad thing. A GM is a GM, but he's not the coach. In my opinion a GM's job is to cultivate talent that works in the system the coach is implementing. A GM that cannot find talent suited for his coach is not a GM. He's just a talent evaluator.

It's the equivalent to putting Dan Marino in Jimmy Johnson's offense. Oops... wait, we've already seen that happen.

AJ's ego will get the best of him.

Thanks MR.LL :cooldude:

Whew. I thought the report said Pope at first, and I almost had a heart attack.

So did I. Pope is one of my favorite players on the 'Phins.

Edit: One the official site, they say Safties Jack Hunt and Norman LeJeune, and wide receiver Chris Davis was waived.

If Houck couldnt help him here in Miami, what makes him think hes gonna get any help in San Diego? He couldnt crack the starting line up here and our line was bad, he didnt even get playing time. He'll probably end up retiring again before camp
