Mid and low round picks know they are fighting for a roster spot and need to make every day with the coaches count. It's normal for a bunch to sign just before camp starts.
Sometimes the higher round picks hold out, but as has been said before, the CBA dictated most of the contract terms these days anyway, so there is less at stake to hold out for something.

Looking forward in seeing how Fede does in camp. He seems to have all the tools, just need to see if he can keep up with the speed. He's lucky to have wake to help him.

Its also better for insurance purposes for if something were to happen re injury, they can point to actual earnings potential.

Yeah, for the most part, players could be their own agents. Other than top ten picks, I'm surprised it takes more than a few days to sign all the picks.

For me, it's silly that we have not just signed everyone by now. The picks we are counting on most to help our team are being held out of practice, and it's not like they don't need it.
So Aponte and Hickey are now getting credit for doing what should have been done already. ....lol

I read somewhere that none of our picks were involved with actual team drills due to the fact that every player is limited in the number of team exercises they are allowed to participate in... If that is true then I have no problem with our actual draft picks not needing to be there while we are evaluating the walk-ons and Un-drafted FA's... I would prefer that they get the reps alongside our vets... then again it might have been Omar that said that so I could be way wrong...
