Dolphins Signing Dt Kendrick Norton

why not. Need to start building that D-line and we only have so many draft picks...
 
Am I the only one that thinks Godchaux is over his head as a starting DT? He gets run over far too much for my liking. We need a dominant force in the middle, a la Clemson's Dexter Lawrence. He would be a tone setter on that line. I will go as far as to say we need a huge upgrade at DT before DE.

I like Godchaux’s hustle but I’ve said since last year he’s overrated on this board. He’s limited. Good rotational player and yes I agree we need a huge upgrade at DT. Either that or the scheme isn’t helping the DTs. Or both.
 
Did any of our DT's got hurt? Seems every time we do this it's because another player got hurt.
 
Funny that Big Vincent Taylor is turning out to be the much better DT than Godchaux, who got all the early raves.

Godchaux is not big and stalwart enough to be a full time starter. He's fine as a complimentary rotational piece. I think that was our intention when drafted, because we still had Suh and Phillips.

Kendrick Norton is an old fashioned plugger type defensive tackle. He was severely overhyped on Canes boards a couple of seasons ago. I remember laughing at someone on CanesInsight who insisted Norton would be picked in the first round.

It makes sense to sign someone like this, given what happened last week and with two physical probably low scoring games ahead. We'll likely need to survive short yardage and goal line situations somewhere, as opposed to worrying about a flurry of pass plays.

Not an exciting player. Certainly not as good or as talented as Jordan Phillips, who we gave away.
 
Bring in as many players as we can....do what ever it takes to turn this debacle around.
 
Our Draft should be: DE, Guard, DT, DE, Guard, QB (3rd round), CB (Trade down an pick up more picks in the 1st or 2nd), Trade Parker for a 7th.

Free Agency: Guard/Tackle, DT, CB, LB, DE; Most of these should mid-tier players except break the bank for a 2nd CB opposite of Howard and we are set in the secondary.
