Dolphins are signing former Texans QB TJ Yates, per source.
 
Good signing. Doughty is not ready and you need a backup QB while Tannehill stays inactive for a few weeks or for the rest of the season.

This is Moore's back up. Doughty stays on the PS. Like this signing. He has won late season games and played in the playoffs.

Makes sense. Matt Moore has always been an aggressive down the field thrower and the one thing TJ Yates does superlatively is throw the long ball (he's also a good play action faker iirc). If Yates has to come into the game they wouldn't have to adjust the game plan as much as they would with a dink and dunk artist who's only comfortable in the shotgun like Doughty.
 
i think the ideal scenario is whoever we signed never has to step on the field
 
Not bad, Miami now has two capable backups for the next 2-3 weeks. I like the move a lot.
 
I like Yates and it's who I would have signed. Bet the Texans wish they had tj instead of a 18 million a year dud
 
All things considered, this is fine. But unless it's late in a blowout win, if he's on the field for the Dolphins we're in serious trouble.
