I live in DC, so i am never able to get to many phins games (ive only been to last year's mnf game vs. new england), and i am wondering what many of you who have been to other places around the league think our venue stacks up.

i honestly have to say that dolphins stadium is not the most electric place i have been to, but that could be due to the fact that the one game ive been to wasnt a real important one. still, i cant shake the idea that our stadium is not considered among the most intimidating places in the league. what are your thoughts on how we measure up?

The stadium was rocking that night!! Great comback game.

it was awesome, but i dont think the fans really were behind the fins until the end... when most everyone had left.

We're about average I'd say. I went to the Dolphins-Bills game in Buffalo this year and their crowd (which is on their wall of fame mind you) was nothing spectacular.

This year we've actually been real good, I only went to Broncos and Panthers game, and we were loud as hell on every play those games

thats comforting to know. i was at the cowboys/skins game, and it was very loud, and i couldnt help wondering if our advantage is similar.

I've been to Dolphins Stadium 5 times including 4 this year and the fans are ok. Thay are not very loud and the stadium is never full. Don't get me wrong, they're are some good fans there. However, the Stadium atmosphere is nothing in comparison to FedEx ('skins). My Dad is a skins fan and has season tickets, so I have been to multiple games there. I've also been to Giants Stadium 3 times to see both the Giants and Jets play the phins and the stadium has been full and loud all 3 times. So based on my experience we are subpar compared to these places

Haven't been to a game since '03 when we played the Colts at home (loss) but the house was packed, and it was loud as hell all game.

I was also at the playoff 'game in '01 vs the Ravens, very loud, packed stadium, unfortunately we lost 20-3, couldn't move the ball on that Raven's D.

When the stadium is half empty like in has been frequently in the past two years, sure its not gonna sound as rockin. But when I last attended games that place was so loud I thought my ears would bleed. I'd be screaming at the top of my lungs and couldn't even hear myself. Problem is, Dolfans for the most part only show up when the team is doing well. When we suck, or are even mediocre you'll see quite a few empty seats so it seems.

I can't imagine any stadium being louder then the fins home games I attended though.

The stands are far away from the action, and the baseball diamond sucks... It's hard for us to sell out, and even then not everyone shows. And a lot of the time there are a lot od other fans there... Our biggest advantage is the heat and the humidity....and thats about it... The chiefs for example post what colors their team will wear so that all the fans can wear matching jerseys/shirts.

Honestly though.. Give it some time. This is the first time since the marino era where the team is actually exciting, and you can never leave early cause they can come back to win it big. With all the stadium renovations and the influx of fans after a winning season i would expect the atmosphere to improve every year....

I agree. I thinks the fans are buying into Saban's philosophy just like the players.:dolphins:

Louder than in years past that is for sure. I was at the San Diego game this year and they were quiet most of the game. Kicking their butt will do that to a home opponents crowd!

I wonder if I should come down to miami next year and bring a special pa system and when the crowd gets to complacent (spp) and say hey clowns this is miami no 1 fan or say this is Denny Crane and i have mad cow dissase and you jokers have it also so get off your lazy butts and make this stadium loud.

thats right my friends I am Denny Crane and i love to shoot my clients with a stun gun.

In 2003, I was at the MNF Eagles matchup. During that game, the stadium seemed to have more Eagles fans than Dolphins fans. The Eagles fans were lunatics too. Dolphins lost.

In 2004, I was at the opening day game against the Titans. It seemed like there were more Dolphin fans, and the stadium was pretty full (not packed). But the Dolphins stunk it up bad that game (and that entire season). That was the year that shook things up in Miami. By the end of the game, everyone in the stadium was booing and yelling at the Dolphins and Coach Wanny.

This year, on opening day, I was at the Broncos game. It was by far the best game I have ever attended there. There were TONS of Dolphin fans there! I hardly saw any Bronco fans. The stadium was loud and cheered the whole game. The Dolphins killed the Broncos that day.

Last week, I could hear the fans getting REAL loud at the end of the game when the Jets were driving. You could hear "DE-FENSE", "DE-FENSE"!! It was coming through over the TV announcers. So I think that the Dolphin fans are starting to fill up the stadium more and more. They are also getting louder and louder during the game. I will be at the Titans game tomorrow. I'm expecting the stadium to be pretty full and the crowd to be excited about another Dolphins victory. GO FINS!!!

OK, I went to the Tennessee opener last year, and to the Denver opener this year.

Personally I've never really had a complaint about our attendance/rowdiness. Yeah everyone always cries about the stadium not selling out or people not showing up. Everyone has their own little theory too as to why that is.

But every team/city is different. K.C. is unique b/c everyone wears red. Green Bay is unique b/c they sell out preseason games and have a regular season waiting list that covers 30 years. (Though I will always believe it's b/c there is nothing to do there).

Yes, Miami has beaches, and hot women, and clubs galore. Does that matter in terms of football? I wouldn't think so, b/c the games are usually on 3 hours a day, 1 day of 7 in the week.

But in my experience, our fans have shown up when they need to.

And as for the Skins/Cowboys, keep in mind thats a heated rivalry + a lot of Cowboy fans live in the D.C. area + FedEx is the biggest stadium in the league, with attendance upwards to near 93,000

If the fans show up big this game it would be a great sign to give the Dolphin players. The fans are there for them even if they are out of the playoff race.
