I was at the bar tonight (with a Jills and 49ers fan) and they asked me what our stadium was called now. I said of course " Dolphins Stadium ". And they replied with " Wasn't it Joe Robbie, or Pro Player". I said it was but now it's Dolphins Stadium. They were in shock!!! They said "What other NFL team has a stadium named after the team?" I couldn't name one! It makes me feel good that we are the only team with a stadium that's named after us. Correct me if I'm wrong fellow finfans but I think we are the only team with a stadium named after our team. :cooldude: :cooldude: :cooldude: :dolphins:

You know, I've never thought about it like that. Thats pretty cool. I still wouldn't mind if it were Joe Robby again because the man deserves it, but its still cool nonetheless. That tells you something about our owner. Even though he's too proud to name it after a previous owner he still cares enough (and doesn't care about the money from a sponsor) to name the stadium after the team.
 
Giants stadium.
But that's okay because the Jests have to play their home games in a stadium with another teams name.

Huezinga is a great owner, but as soon as he gets an offer that he can't refuse he'll change the name of the stadium and it will be sponsored. Another thing is most owners of football teams don't own the actual stadium. I know huizenga just bought the stadium(within the last 5-10 years) and all the property around it(parking lots etc.).

They call it the Meadowlands when the Jets play...Meadowlands...:lol: Sounds like a name for a WNFL team stadium!
 
Yeah it will be DHL one day as soon as the Orange Bowl and the FedEx situation is fixed!

They call it Jets Stadium/Giants Stadiun when the teams play there, respectively. But "the Meadowlands" overrides it every time.

There is Cleveland Browns Stadium...whats the name of da Bears' stadium?

This won't happen... Huzienga stated back when he renamed the stadium that he wanted the identity of the stadium to be the identity of the team. I doubt we will ever see DHL stadium... They already have enough advertising on the site... IMO...
 
i NEVER LIKED THE NAME PRO PLAYER STADIUM BECAUSE THAT WASNT EVEN THA NAME IT WAS CALLED PRO PLAYER PARK AND THAT IS A WEAK NAME..... I SOMETIMES FORGET AND STILL CALL IT JOE ROBBIE BUT DOLPHINS STADIUM IS PRETTY COOL

I LOVE OUR STADIUM....... DAMN I MISS THE SMELL OF BEER ON A SUNDAY MORNING...
