The poll on the main page of finheaven has a staggering number of people choosing Hagan as the starter as the #3 WR this season. I just don't see that happening. Well, at least not on opening day.
Hagan is a 3rd round pick and a rookie. He has lots of talent and is built right for an NFL WR. He has a lot of potential. But that doesn't matter on gameday if you aren't able to get it done.
The most important things for WR's are to simply GET OPEN and CATCH PASSES. The more passes Hagan catches, the closer he will get to taking the starting job. Both Campbell and Welker have proven themselves already at WR. They can both catch passes at the NFL level.
It is highly likely that Welker and Campbell will start the season sharing the role as the #3 WR. They will also split time returning kicks. At some point, Hagan will have the opportunity to get in the game. Every time he does well, he will move a step closer to starting at the #3 WR position. But don't count on him starting there on opening day.
