Dolphins Steelers Officiating Fiasco May Have Decided World Champion

I do know that we werent gonna sniff the playoffs. If you think there was even a remote chance of that happening, you clearly didnt watch the games.

i never said I thought we would sniff the playoffs. I am not insinuating we would have.. just saying changing variables lead to changing results. Just to make one thing clear, had we won that game, in no way, shape, or form, do I think we would have made the playoffs.. Had we won that game, for all we know our heads would have gotten bigger than our a**es and we would have gotten ****y, overlooking teams, and finishing even worse than 7-9.. I think that is more of a realistic outcome than us making the playoffs, if we won that game.

considering we were still in the playoff hunt with 3 games to go, it could have made a ton of difference. To beat Pittsburgh in that game could have been a huge morale boost for the team. But we probably benefited more from the loss, what would another 1 or 2 wins have gotten us? Get beat in the first round and be picking early 20s in the draft? We are better off the way it turned out.
Us and almost every other team.

Hi Guys,

I have to give props to this post! I live in Pennsylvania and have been a lifelong Fins fan. I spent $2,000 to see them play the Steelers in Miami this year and never felt so sick over a football game in my life. If you had to be around "Steeler Nation" like I do you would completely understand the ignorance of their fans. They truly get the most calls everyear along with a ton of luck. Trust me I know most of you hate the Jets but if you were around these arrogant idiots you would feel the pain. They find ways to win games weather its defensive holding calls on the goal line (Ravens game) Fumbles that never get recovered (Dolphins game) dropped passes in overtime that all of us could have caught (Bills game) Watch it close in the SuperBowl, you will most likely see another Seattle hose job against the Pack. GO PACK GO! Shut up Steeler Nation. PLEASE!

The extensions signals a rebuilding year im telling you ross wants luck bad! he is setting us up to get the 1st pick and sparano is on board to help make that happen..

mathematically, but realistically, I wrote off our playoff chances when we lost to Baltimore..

if you ask any steeler fan, they will tell you they get the most calls going against them more than any other team in the league... realistically, a good team can overcome bad calls. The refs dont make or break games, the teams do.

I agree good teams overcome bad calls, HOWEVER (Just like Pittsburgh ref Gene said in Miami) HOWEVER if you have to watch this team play every week you will look at this differently. I am by no means jeolous of the Steelers, I am making a point to others to pay attention more closely and nothing is out of the realm of possibility with the refs in Steeler games. Watch...

Had the call gone the other way and we won the game our record would be 8-8. Oakland has the same record, only we beat them in heads up and would have more than likely had to pick after them. Seemingly not that big of a deal, except for the fact that New England will be taking Oakland's pick. If there is one team that ANY coach wants to pick before, its the Patriots. That being said, we may or may not have had to pick after Jacksonville who was also 8-8. In hienz sight, that poor officiating call put us in a much favorable position than we otherwise would have been in.

We lost to the Browns and the Bills, ya that call was our season right there. That one bad call ruined us!

How is this relevant? Noone knows what chain of events would have happened had we won that game and Pitt lost.

Exactly. I was pretty irritated about the game the results of that game but its impossible to 'predict' what might have happened. A more likely scenario (nothing to do directly w/ Miami) is KC gets the #3 seed & Indy the 4th yada yada yada its very possible that the pats would be going to Dallas.

If a bullfrog had wings, he wouldn't bump is *** on the rocks either!

Pretty solid chance the Steelers win that game even if the correct call was made anyway. And dont act like we never had one call go our way this year. End of the game, beginning of the game, whatever. Doesnt matter. That call got more exposure because it was the end of the game. People forget all the other bad calls for and against us that even things out.

...true...I was more upset about our Phins only getting field goals(3 or 6 pts. I don't remember now) out of 2 early Pitt turnovers...that end zone call...should have never been a factor imo
