In other news, the Dolphins' search for a big-play receiver continues.

Donte Stallworth, who visited Miami on Thursday, signed a reported six-year deal with New England on Sunday.

Cincinnati's Kelley Washington, who visited New England on Friday, remains in discussions with Miami, a source said.

One thing is obvious. We are going to sign another WR in free agency or the draft.

Ok, someone out there please sell me WR K. Washington. I know absolutely nothing about him, or why we should be targeting him as a potential addition to our roster. I'd appreciate any info I can get....

PHINZ RULE!!!

There's nothing to sell. He's a size - speed receiver prospect that's been in the league for a while and has been unproductive. The hope is: the lack of production is because of the lack of opportunities due to the outstanding receivers in front of him (Houshmanzadah & Johnson). In that sense he's sort of like the TE the Dolphins signed from Green Bay (size-speed guy, not productive, played behind Bubba Franks)

That's basically it. Kelley Washington had the bad luck of playing behind Chad and T.J. But I have to wonder, did anyone stack up his production to snaps played?

He seemed to do Okay but he only had like 6 touchdowns his intire time there but I don't think I have heard of him dropping alot of balls. Course that could do to the fact that he doesn't get thrown to alot. Obviously if Cam (had best offence last year...) is pushing to get him he must have some sort of talent.

TOuchdowns don't tell the whole story. Wes Welker only had one touchdown his entire tenure here, but we all knew how solid he was.

he was highly touted coming out of tennesse, hopefully he can be a late bloomer if we sign him

Hopefullly indeed, we could use a break in that department. I liked him coming out of college, and I have been disappointed with his career so far. but would love to see him come out of his shell with the fish.

Hey Blitz, I wish I could add to what's already been posted about this guy; but I've apparently read the same stuff they have. All the so -called experts mention "potential", and that he's stuck behind Chad and TJ. I guess he's like the proverbial back-up QB. Everyone loves him for what they think he can do, y'know?

sign him for a year and lets see what happens, then that way we are not stuck paying him if he sucks.

I remember it was the dreaded draft year when Wanny took Eddie Moore in the 2nd round that I was really hoping we'd select Washington and I couldn't believe it when the ticker said "LB Eddie Moore". Just like I couldn't belive it when Wanny chose Jamar Fletcher over Chad Johnson, Reggie Wayne, and so many really solid players. Drew Brees...

Washington was taken high in the 3rd round. As I recall, he was considered to go higher on talent but he was considered a risk because he had an injury history in college and he has some sort of spinal condition of concern.

It looks like Mueller is trying to grab "bargains" meaning guys who are on the rise who maybe have noy yet produced but could.

Martin and Washington would be injury risks; that's why we can get them inexpensively.

If memory serves me, Miami could have drafted him..

the year they took Mr. Moore from Tennessee, you know, the linebacker who was as shocked as Dolphin fans that he was drafted by Miami in the second.

You and me both! I was doing the same thing, watching the draft and hoping for KW. I could not believe Wannabe took another defensive player! The only knock on KW was the neck injury, but his college performance was solid. At least now we know the neck injury is no longer a concern.
