Miami has only 14 players from 2011 who are still on the team. They are Hartline, Pouncey, Clay, DT, and Garner on O, and Starks, Odrick, Wake, Misi, Trusnik, Jones, and wilson on D, with Fields and Denny on ST's. Of these players, Pouncey, Clay, DT, Garner, Jones and Wilson were added in 2011, with the others already on the team.

In 2012, we added Tannehill, Matthews, Miller, Egnew, OV,, and Thigpen Shelby who are still on the team, which would be 21 players who have been here for at least 2 seasons. Of those, DT, Trusnik, and Egnew are on the bubble, and Thigpen and Garner are not locks.

Of the players added in 2011/12, Puncey is a pro bowler, RT looks like the answer, Clay is a step away, OV looks good, and a few others have VG potential.

Of all the picks and FA's, this is what we have come down to. Add in 2 HC, 2 DC, 3 OC's, along with the other coaching changes, and there is little reason to wonder why we have been struggling to have a winning team.

We can only hope that Hickey and company can change what we have been.

The Coach and the QB are the key. The Patriots have always had a lot of turnover. Only Brady and Wilfork are left from their last Super Bowl win, and only Brady from their first. A HOF QB and coach are easy to build around, other than Marino and Shula. However, teams with VG D's, and some balance have proven that this is not the case to winning SB's in the current NFL.

Matt Moore was part of the 2011 team. Yes, he was the QB, and he's still on the team. Some would say that he even made a bigger contribution than Trusnik. Southbeach is rarely incorrect but he may want to double check.

Thanks Gal. Sorry, meant to say Pal. JK/LOL. Been doing this for over 10 years, from the old Herald forum which was MUCH more brutal, as well as friendly because of being able to talk about anything, than here.

I think I will retire at 10K.

Since the NFL took the stance on creating parity and the salary cap, player turnover has been the norm. Players used to spend 10 seasons with the same team.
It is becoming a more rare occurrence except for the top QB's.
The Fins have been on a coaching carousel since Shula was pushed out. The garbage man set us up for this disaster. I wonder if he has any regrets in hindsight?
For now, I feel that we have a nucleus of a coaching staff and team. Hickey is the key. If he can bring in pro bowl talent long term and patch this team up short term to be competitive, we can finally retake our spot at the top of the AFC east. NE has been the team to beat in this division far to long.
Can Philbin and Hickey be a long term answer and our teams salvation for the next 10-20 years? Not so sure yet, it is still early. Philbin has shown that his team can beat the Pats, so that is encouraging.
Is 9000 posts something special...a milestone?
Once the season gets revved up, I will be there shortly.

I don't follow other team very closely, and do agree that today's NFL has far greater turnover than the past. However, having only around 20 guys who have been here for two years is not the norm, although I could be wrong.

The D has held up pretty well while not making as many changes but, has still been hurt.

The O is my main focus. Last year, it was a new RB, new TE, 2 new WR's, new RT, and position change for a new LT.

This year, it's a new RB, 4 new guys on the OL, and a new O. This is tuff to deal with, as so much depends on timing, and the OL acting as one.
