They are only saying it is a wait and see approach so his value won't drop so they can possibly pull a trade.

The fact that they are interested in other QB's is a sure sign that Daunte is a goner.

Sorry folks the over paid has been is done in Miami!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What value does he hold other than a busted up knee?

His name and his 2004 stats. Haven't you been listening? :D

Surely he has value to someone who lives in the past.

I think there is a lot in what is not being said...

I would not call that a ringing endorsement of Culpepper. Mueller was aware of his issues last year more so than Cameron. Chances are he is not with the team in September.

After having slow armed QB's like Fielder....I just loved Daunte's rocket arm.... but I'm starting to believe the writing is on the wall with Culpepper being done for. Will we find out what his knee is like when QB camp starts....soon I think??

Q: Do discussions with other teams about their QBs bode badly for Culpepper's future in Miami?
A: "I don’t think so. We’re trying to get better, whether it’s at quarterback or offensive line or receiver, we’re trying to get better. Anything I would say about the quarterback situation is really speculation at this point and I don’t think it benefits anybody. I do know this, if Daunte is healthy he’s a really good player in this league and that’s a proven fact.
Q: But that’s the big question . . .
A: "We all would like to see a crystal ball for what’s going to happen with a lot of our players. I guess time will tell."

OWNED!!!!

I think this means they are looking to resign Cleo, get Carr, and get Quinn (or what they view as a good QB to draft). If they don't get one of those three things done, Culpepper will stay.

Either way, not exactly great sounding for his job security.

how is he owned?? Those answers are about as vanilla as you can get, it's called being politically correct and not throwing him under the bus, doesn't sound very opimistic for him to me.

I have absolutely NO allegiance to Culpepper. Whatever he has done well in his career he has not done for our beloved franchise.

That said, I would LOVE to see him resurrect his career here. If not, I wish him no harm but on the other hand how he does after his stay in Miami is not that important to me as of now. That might change if he does something big and phat for this franchise!

Culpepper is an interesting dilemna. Marino did amazing well after knee issues and arguably a more serious achilles situation. So what gives? The guy ought to be able to function as at least a good quarterback in this league for some period of time 4 or 5 years.

I appreciate that some on this site love C-pep and others do not much care for him. To me proof is in the pudding. If he produces as a Dolphin I will love him. And if he moves on without helping us I will not think twice about it.

In the meantime I cannot remember a time when the draft has felt so important. Maybe when Shula got Charles Bowser to add ANOTHER B to our killer B Defense. Man I am excited and I believe we NEED several diamonds in the rough so come-on Mueller make my YEAR!
