Dolphins talk to Cowboys about possible Beck trade

Hey not that exciting news but it's news! I wasn't a beck supporter anyway. I wouldn't mind replacing him... thanks. I wonder what we would get for him.

I hope Beck goes to the Cowboys and becomes a Pro Bowler. In that situation I do hope that Henne is even better and the Dolphins never lose against Beck but I would like to see him succeed since I talked him up to my friends and now they just make fun of me for it.

Not sure why the Cowboys would even want to trade for him due to his salary cap number. He is getting paid a large amount for a 3rd string QB. I would definately trade him for a 6th or better just due to that reason. I guess he would be a #2 in Dallas?

Disregarding the salary cap, I would like to keep Beck around. He seems to really be interested in soaking up all of Penny's knowledge, and as mentioned before on the forums helps him break down film. I don't think Beck was really ever given a fair chance, but then again he couldn't even hold onto the football.

The way some people on here talk him down you would think he introduced typhoid to the state of Florida. He has done nothing other than try his best in difficult circumstances having been drafted by the now maligned previous regime. I dont rate him yet as a QB but as an individual he appears to warrant more respect than a great many on here and on the team. Its a pity that gets lost in the mess left by Cam.

Beck struggled as a rookie QB on a horrible team with a terrible coaching staff, no big surprise there. I think those that have bashed and judged Beck already don't understand the game of football.

John Beck for Bobby Carpenter seems like a good trade to me. Hopefully Dallas will think so too.

My thought exactly, hopefully after a year under Chad Pennington he will become a better QB. I wish Beck all the success in the world.

Put Riley right up there with the Fins' FO savvy coups... by stealing Super Mario in a 2nd round trade!

If that's true, then it seems as though we are shopping Beck to see what we can get. Kind of torn on this one. If we can get something decent for him, I'm ok with that, but if we're doing it just to dump the $$. I hate the thought of another wasted draft pick from a couple years ago. But it seems obvious the FO doesn't feel Beck fits the mold of a QB they want on the team. Until they prove otherwise, I'll trust the FO on their choice on this.

We wont get anything decent for him. At best a 6th or 7th rounder. I would love a head up trade for carpenter but I doubt beck is enough. As for his salary cap number its not as outrageous as people make it out to be. He would be theres for like a 600,000 dollar cap hit

I can't wait till Beck is traded so that I don't have to defend the FOs very reasonable business ethics...

I am tired of defending their choice to supplant Beck as the heir to the huddle..., it's getting labourous

I know others feel the same way...

If the FO thought there was inkling that this guy was good for the team he wouldn't be shopped. Period
