Dolphins talking trade for RB Anderson

Too close to the deadline to trade anything for a RB. The Broncos are going to let him go and we would have to take on a 4.5 mill contract if we trade for him. Don’t think if he is released we will be in a bidding war near that price. It’s better to wait but Tannenbaum lives to waste money, that’s for sure. 26 mill Suh, 10 mill Cutler Rollover, 13 Mill Maxwell rollover that’s 50 mil wasted in the past 2 years FA.

Hold on. Everyone has been complaining for the past two days about Miami getting a 4th for a player they weren't going to keep as a bad return. I would rather not trade for Anderson because I think there are other options in the draft and on the free agent market so they could get a similar back without trading a pick. The only pick I'm even willing to consider to deal is a 2019 6th or 7th round pick. But if we're going to say it's a good move for the Broncos than how can we complain about the say deal in the Miami Cleveland trade? Yes I know Landry is a better player than Anderson, I'm talking about the idea of trading for a player that a team wasn't going to keep in general.

Appears to be a pretty solid draft for RBs, so of course the Phins will do this. Reminds me of how we opted for Julius Thomas instead of taking advantage of a strong TE draft last year.

I'm not wild about the idea from the stance of why give up and asset and pay more money for Anderson if you could add Crowell or Hyde for less money and no trade compensation. That being said Anderson is a much better player at this stage of his career than Thomas was last year.

Yes it is but we have Drake why waste a pick for a back up RB?

We can draft a guard or tight end or linebacker with those picks.

I would be ok with using the money that's going to go to Anderson on a guard and drafting a running back in the 3rd, 4th or 5th round instead. For example I would rather have a vet guard and Royce Freeman instead of a rookie 3rd, 4th or 5th round guard and Anderson. Or better yet drafting someone like Derrius Guice in the 2nd round is a better option than Anderson in my opinion.

CJ plus the 5th overall for James the 11th and one of the 4ths rounders?

Does CJ have a big dead cap hit, would it make sense for them to dump him like this?

Wouldn't be a backup. That's not how offenses work anymore.

Miami likely would have had to use its 1st round pick on one of them last year. Evan Engram and David Njoku were both taken in the first round. Those two IMO were second round prospects
