Dolphins | Team has interest in re-signing Frerotte

Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins have interest in re-signing free agent QB Gus Frerotte (Dolphins) to serve as the team's No. 2 quarterback.

GOOD i'd like to see him backup pepper again. plus they are probably allready comfortable w/ each other.

This is a no-brainer, especially if Pepper can't start the season.

it really makes the most all around sense - i'd be surprised if this didn't happen

good i think we should resign him cause he knows the offense and is a quality backup

That's good news. The though of not having a QB on the team who was im camp last year (well minus brock) was just a little scary, considering I'd rather Dautne take teh time to recover than rush him back for the opener. I know that with Gus we have a chance to go out there and win, even if he won't give us absolutely phenomenal play. Plus Daunte and Gus were a phenomenal tandem in Minnesota in 2003.

Gus is definitely the best option out there. I would actually welcome back Griese with open arms, Wade Smith single handedly ensured Griese's failure down here. Stay away from Maddox.

I'd love to have Frerotte back. Is there really a chance of it happening? I mean if there was then why wouldn't he restructure his contract before he was released?

i think it can happen. it depends if gus has a chance to go somewhere else where he might get more playing time. cutting a player and resigning them to lesser money happens all the time in the nfl.

I don't think Gus was very willing to restructure because he earned his salary through incentives. By releasing him we didn't really give him much choice, and although he may be the slightest bit upset, his best situation is probably to stay with this team.

It would be nice to have Gus back. He really showed he's a good QB with the system we have in place. he knows the players well too. It would be kewl to get him back.

Go Dolphins

I am all for having him come back as well. He knows the system and the players. He also knows Daunte. He is a quality backup.
