Me and my wife are taking my parents to the team opener against the Bills. I was thinking about staying at the team hotel (Renaissance Fort Lauderdale-Plantation Hotel).

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? If so, would you recommend it? What are the chances that we'll see some players?

Thanks in advance!!

For the home opener the chances of seeing a player at the Hotel are not very good. Unless I am mistaken once they break camp before the start of the regular season the players are allowed to stay at their homes in the local area.

I'm pretty sure that they stay at the hotel the night before the game, right?

Does anyone know where they will stay when in pittsburgh?

You need to find someone with a 2006 Dolphins media guide.

That info should be in there. At least it used to be in past years.

I've stayed there before and got lots of pics and autographs from players.

1st time I got Zach, JT, Chambers, McMichael among others.

Next time got more Pics but none of the above. Still got pics and autographs from Booker, Channing, Bowens, Carey and more.

Usually have a window of opportunity after team meetings end which was around 8 to 9 PM when I was there.

The hotel and team are good about it as long as it doesn't get to invasive to the the players.

Hope that helps.

That's great info...thanks!!

Where exactly are the meetings held? I assume in the hotel banquet rooms??

You will see players, you won't get near the banquet rooms, they rope off an area in the lobby and if your looking for auto's you must stay behind the ropes. as the p[layers come down the elevators they will pass you, they will come over and sign only if they want. Also the team usually stays on the 6th floor, the only problem is that the elevators are controlled with a room card and once the team arrives(usually from the rear of the building) the 6th floor is locked out and you cant get up there. you might get lucky and see a few players in the lobby at night but usually no big names. they usually go straight to there rooms and stay there.

you also might get lucky and see some rookies, they live there so chances are better you'll see them, last year I saw Travis Daniels about 10 times over a 2 day period. Didn't even realize it was him until the last day. They look like kids. The players stay there the night before the game and usually arrive between 5-7 pm. They enter through the rear service door for the kitchen and then go upstairs in the service elevator. they now rope off the rear parking lot and have security back there so if you try to go back there they chase you away.

the team hotel is fantasitc
all the players stay there the night of the game and they have curfew at 10 or 11 so if you go out there around 9 you can catch them all coming to the hotel. most of them are pretty cool about signing autographs, but some sneak in the back. its a really nice hotel and reasonably inexpensive. i will be staying there week 3.

Ok!!
