Dolphins | Team may still look to upgrade at RB
Wed, 23 Aug 2006 05:48:21 -0700
Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports although he continues to praise his running back corps, Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban said Tuesday, Aug. 22, the team is still looking at the possibility of bolstering the position. "I don't feel like that's a position where we're totally settled on making an evaluation or feeling that we have the kind of quality depth that we might need," said Saban, who has RBs Sammy Morris, Travis Minor and Kay-Jay Harris as his top options behind starting RB Ronnie Brown. "It might be something that we continue to work to develop as well as address."

I dont know but it sounds to me like we might want to take a look at Staley and at Davis.Either one would be huge, but both are injury prone....

I think Davis would be the better option of the two. I never really liked Duce Staley, and he's with a team right now anyways.

what about the potential chris brown trade i would rather him here than staley or davis, he would be a top back-up and a great change of pace in our offence messing up opposing defences

Duce would be the best choice (Although I think the Steelers keep him). He is a hard noised runner and Davis is about done if not already done.

Someone call the bus back just for 1 more year...I miss ricky already dam you :tantrum:

Davis who? What's his first name I might remember who he is.

i do not think the Steelers are getting rid of Deuce considering the Bus is retired.

Davis is extremely injury-prone right now...but since we'd be limiting his carries as a backup, he'd have a chance to help us, IMO. I think he's a FA now...so i think we oughta at least bring him in for a look.

Stephen Davis, ex-Carolina Panther

Oh, I thought he was still with Carolina, anyways I would rather have him. He's injury prone though but when he's healthy he is a hell of a RB.

chris brown offers pretty much the same as ronnie(with ronnie being capable of doing more things well and being more talented by far), it makes more sense to me to go after davis(not duce). he may be injury-prone but at least we can give him a chance. he had a monster year just 2 years ago

why on earth would we want Davis, who the eagles won't even sign?

why would we want Staley, a "hard" runner, when the steelers need one so very badly?

and guys, get over it, we're not getting chris brown.

let's look to other options.

Just wait for cuts. I think we should look at Eric Shelton, a second round draft pick last year, likely to be cut. When rosters get slimmer, names will be availble, and will be a lot less expensive. I would not won't to trade away pick or pay a high price tag for a vet with one good year left.
