Dolphins | Team meets with Burgess

hmm he ran a slow time tho. 4.88 i want quickness for our SOLB spot.

this could mean that MIA is planning on using our 2nd round pick on another position other than OLB. I expected MIA to use that 40th overall pick on an OLB because at how deep that position is. There should be a 1st round talent at #40 because at how deep the position is. Also, NT or WR is a possibility at #40 as well.

I could see that, QB, CB, OLB on day one, maybe pick up Andy Alleman in the 4th to fill a need at C/G.

If Alleman were even there in the 3rd, you should count yourself lucky. He's worth a 2nd round pick for sure. I'd hope we took him if he lasted to the 3rd. No way he lasts 'til day 2. 0% chance.

you know that's not what i meant...burgess isnt even a player i think we will target in the 3rd round much less the 1st round. but what im saying is that mia needs an olb...and i would think that mia targets one in the 2nd round. but if they are interviewing 3rd round olb types that it could be that mia is interested in another position in the 2nd round instead.

in the 1st round i dont see mia targeting any other players other than either landry or ginn jr. dont see them drafting brown so...

ginn jr seems to be my main choice because of the fact that there shouldn't be a speedy wr at #40.

it looks as if meachem will be gone by then. rice showed he isnt really a burner and neither is jarrett.

so if we dont sign a free agent wr...ginn jr could be that guy. there should be more quality on defense in the 2nd round then there would be at wr.

so i think that it serves mia better to go wr in the 1st round and a defensive player in the 2nd and 3rd rounds...

Don't we meet with many different prospects during the combine ? Why is this guy any more/less important than any of the others ? Means nothing more than he's one of many people we may consider somewhere in the draft.

I dont really see us drafting Ginn. In the first I see us going with Brady Quinn, or if he isnt on the board then Gaines Adams or Jarvis Moss. Jason Taylor thriving in Capers' system like he did, along with our suspect secondary, makes it glaringly obvious to me that we need to bring in a player with a similar skill set to JT's so we can groom him into that attacking DE/OLB role in our defense. Adams or Moss would be good fits for this role, and while #9 might be a bit of a reach at this point for Moss (who I've seen in mocks going around 12-17), his height, speed, and pass-rush abilities would make him a capable understudy and eventual replacement for JT.
