The Dolphins tendered receiver Wes Welker, who was undrafted, at the new second-round level of $1.3 million. The Fins also tendered safety Yeremiah Bell at the second-round level. Bell was a sixth-round pick in 2003.

Awesome news! This two are very good young players on our team and hopefully by next year they are signed long term. Good to see them back.

a 2nd rounder? thats high for both guys, just means both of them are coming back. but I must say, thats too much money to be paying Wes. he's a 3rd or 4th WR. shouldn't get that type of money, I know he does kick returns too but unless his name is Dante Hall or Devin Hester I wouldn't pay a returner over 700K

I am very glad for Wes and Bell. They are two of the players that made things exciting in Miami. They played well and deserved to be tendered.
Let's face it. We are all breathing a little easier with Welker in the boat. He was one of our most reliable and capable receivers last year.
I am also glad to see Yeremiah stay. He had a good year. I want to see him improve and become into the player he has the potential to be.

Right on good deal! Glad to see Wes finally getting what he deserves. No news on Cleo yet?

Seems a bit expensive for Wes. I hope someone bites.
No one will bite on either player, that is why they were given the tender. The next lowest tender would have been a 6th rounder for Bell and no compensation for Welker. A long term deal for either could be in the works, and just because they were given the tender doesn't mean each will get the $1.3 million. A few weeks down the road we could see either(or both) of these guys signing a multi-year deal(probably 3 years) that will pay them less in 2007.

Lemon and Jones will probably get the same tenders later today.

I for one am not breathing easier. He is pretty replaceable.

I think someone will try Bell. He had a pretty good year last year and may have caught some eyes. When you can come in and improve and that improvement is obvious. It will caught someones attention.

this must mean that booker is on the outs. i guess the organization thought that $1.3mil for welker was not only cheaper than the $3.7mil that booker is set to make...but welker is more versatile in that he can also return kicks/punts.

so i would say that booker is going to be cut and replaced by the speedy wr that mueller is seeking.

We were the only team in the league that had 4 receivers catch 50 balls or more. Wes was by far are most reliable receiver last year. I think that he deserves his paycheck. Sometimes I think people on this board don't see this as a business. And since he does double duties He is deserving.

As far as I know Chambers is the only one they've shopped around so far.
