When coach Tony Sparano gathered his players recently, he congratulated them on a great 2008 season. He told them how wonderful it was to turn things around and "change the culture" of losing he encountered when he took over the team.

But, he reminded the players, the job is not complete so he wants, hopes, expects, this team to strive to complete the job. He didn't say, this is a transition team. He didn't say, we'll complete the job in a year or two.
Sparano, Jeff Ireland, Bill Parcells and every player on the Dolphins want to win the Super Bowl this coming season. Owner Stephen Ross wants to host his team in Super Bowl XLIV in Miami. No one is thinking about championships in 2010. This is not the NBA. They are not thinking about completing a four- or five-year program in 2010 or 2011.

2009 is the focus.

Every team needs to focus on the SB to start out with. It's only when you're 2-8 that you need to play for next year.

This is the correct way to think about every season...if a team is "just looking to improve" then they are "just looking to suck"...

Oy....Obviously nothing to write about. Of course they are focused on the SuperBowl. Jesus. Terrible, terrible terrible.

I would take a stud interior lineman, OL or DT, over Boldin anyday. Why arent there 10000 threads about these kind of players?

yep, he has 1 SB appearance...as well as 5 losing seasons.

OMG Boldin is the missing piece!!

Not saying he's the missing piece. What has any WR on this team accompished that Boldin hasn't? Boldin is better than any WR on this team. Even precious Teddy Ginn. Heck...he's even put up 1000+ yards in a season....How many of our WRs have done that?

Hell, if thats all it is, lets just go get Calvin Johnson, he's lightyear ahead of Boldin!!!

Thats great Boldin has caught so maany passes for so many yards, but I doubt his number will be called 50% of the time in our offense like it is in AZ. Our different system and style of play wouldnt give Bolding those numbers here.

This my focus as well, if we have a good OL, then everything else falls into place...can't put enough emphasis on the trenches..it's so important, can our qb sit in the pocket for 3 to 4 good seconds to look over a field on a long pass play..that's what I'd love to see this year.. if we can do that, we can go a long way..
