Dolphins To Hold Three Unique Practices For Fans

Happy to report back. I just moved back to MIA after 15 years out in Los Angeles, so i am hungry for all of this kind of stuff. It's funny how the mere sight of a homeless guy wearing an orange Culpepper jersey (saw that on 8th st today) can get me fired up. It is FINALLY football season.

Cool this family day stuff and inter scrimmage has Green Bay written all over it. They have been doing this since the beginning of time. These types of things are what separate elite teams from the average Joes.

Guessing Philbin had a hand in this.

Ross thinks it's all about getting as many celebrity minority owners as possible.

I hope somebody talks some ****ing logic into Ross. He might be good at making money in the real-estate business but he sucks at running the venues that surround a professional football team.

"On Saturday, July 31st. during both practices Dolphins’ fans and their families are invited to “Family Day at Dolphins Camp” to enjoy the first Saturday team practices and all of the festivities surrounding the return of football. Among the FREE activities fans from all ages will be able to enjoy are face painters, inflatable’s, meet-and-greet Dolphins Cheerleaders, fun with TD and the Fins Force, and other surprises."

That's from a few years ago, I could look up more but what's the point. All I am saying is that we've been doing these types of fun things during training camp for a long time now, it's not something from some other team or whatever. Maybe this season it might seem a little more elaborate but, for the most part, these kind of activities are something the team has done before.

Reporting back on the "family fun" side of things... They had two bounce houses, two carnival throw a football through the hole games, a particularly good pair of face painters, cheerleaders signing autographs, and two photo opportunities, one with a mock reggie bush locker and the other a mock player where you can put your head so that you look like a player. My kids loved it, cause they, like every kid in America, love bouncie houses. Meanwhile, I got interviewed for the website, signed up by a season ticket salesgirl, sold two frozen lemonades at 4 bucks a pop, and hit up for 5 dollar spins at a prize wheel.

I probably won't be going out of my way to attend with the kids next year. It would be amazing if they made the players available for the kids for a little bit this particular practice. I sat there in the stands and watched the autograph hordes go nuts, with three guys in front of me talking about ebay business. Not a place for the little ones in that mess.

thanks for the report back. you're more than welcome to start your own thread on this, perhaps with some suggestions about what worked, what didn't and maybe some ideas how to improve it? I know a couple guys in the organization that might take constructive critisim and make improvements.

Thanks. Will do. In rereading my post I realized that I sound pretty much like an ingrate. Not the case. I had a great time and appreciate the effort the organization made to reach out to us with the little ones.
