Dolphins trade 4th round pick for Anthony Fasano and Akin Ayodele

Wow, what a trade. I'm so very very excited for this trade, and I really think that this means:

1) We have a deal for Jason Taylor in place
2) We are going to draft a quarterback in round 1.

What do you all think?

:err:

So you think we are trading to get into round 1 for a QB that will probably be there at #32? How does this deal make you feel were going to do that?

I like the trade too but dont follow your logic.

I just think we got two starters for a fourth round pick we're probably going to get back.

I agree. We just got 2 guys that fill positions we need. We won't be drafting a TE now and thats good because it's a weak class. We may still draft a ILB but it doesn't have the importance it did so it will be a 6th or 7th round pick. What a great trade!!!! And I still think we are going to get at least and additional 4th round pick by trading down from the 64th pick but how this can be related this to a Jason Taylor trade is beyond me?

I love this move! In my mock I had us taking a TE (Cottam), in the 4th. Now we get a TE with good size also and some potential and we get a LB! (Don't know much about him). Good moves, though they're taking some of the excitement out of draft day for us.....This may be a good thing, thinking of our past draft days..:)

Hell of a typo, eh?

I meant Round 2.

Here is some logic for the Jason Taylor belief. Parcells won't be trading away 2nd day selections for very good reason : he builds his teams core through rounds 3-7. He loves 2nd day selections, because he feels that those are the selections that have the smaller variance in who makes it and who doesnt, and if you consistently hit a player who has the ability to be "solid" pro, you are going to be in much better shape than a team who keeps drafting 2nd day guys who will be " mediocre " pros. He wants lots of 2nd day selections. Now, this a deal you HAVE to take ( we got the best part of this deal, no doubt... it was a luxury move for the Cowboys but man did we need it )

I just suspect he made this trade with an offer in mind, or with the thought of knowing he will be trading down.
