Dolphins Training Camp Report (Aug. 6th)

sounds very encouraging on a number of fronts - although you can't read too much into these early practices.

Sounds to me like the curse of Henning may be exorcized out of here finally. Maybe we will see just what a guy with a football brain from 2011 can do with Henne? If we start clicking, we might have something to get excited about.

Sure but this guy just doesnt have what it takes to be a starting cb ffs.Hes stiff at the hip and lacks quickness, agility, instincts and acceleration.Cant believe some people are ok with this guy starting.

Sean Smith has incredible agility and qucikness especially for a CB his size. The two things I would like to see him improve on this year are:

1) Catching the ball when he gets a chance
2) Using those long arms to jam guys at the line

This is like the 4th practice in a row where it would seem Henne and the offense is clicking. We've been on here moaning and complaining about how bad this offense is and from most reports it looks as though the offense is starting to move the ball. Downfield passes, TDs, big plays by receivers...I think Clyde Gates has caught a TD or more in every practice.

I can't wait until Friday to see this team live.

It is a good news. As much as Henne has been bashed we NEED him to succeed. Any positive report is welcomed news. its camp. But, something has to give. He either do it this year or its not going to happen.

This. He needs to be more aggressive. If he does he will be a pro-bowler.

Not surprised at all that A: Henne overthrew Marshall and B: Marshall beat Sean Smith.

Well now if that didn't surprise you, by inference, surely you're gonna want to chime in how pleasantly surprised you are by these:

-- Another TD pass to Mastrud fromm Henne near the goal line.

-- Doing some 11-on-11 work near the goal line today: Henne to Mastrud for a short TD. Play-action pass.

-- Back from the radio. Dolphins doing some 11-on-11. Henne just completed a nice long pass down the field. Couldn't see to who; scrunched #.

- Now back to Henne: 20-yard TD pass to Clay. Nice play. Charles Clay impressing, folks. Will be a tough match-up.

-- 7-on-7 redzone now. Henne to Bess. Then to Bush. Short passes. Then Henne to Marshall, who dropped a TD pass.

MOORE is hitting guys for td's in the redzone and seems to have a real knack for getting to the guy in the BACK of the endzone, something henne has been HORRIBLE at!!

looks like moore is MORE than holding his own which is good for us, cant have enough guys who MAKE PLAYS!! from all the things i have been seeing on the net and the video that was posted here, he is money in the endzone and can really hit that guy coming across the rear. the other thing moore exells at that henne doesnt is when a wr is supossed to move to a spot and stop and catch the ball. henne usually sends the ball to the right or left of the sitting player causing them to have to stretch out in an odd way to try and catch the pass, usually seeing the ball sail to wide.

these are the plays that frustrate me about henne. a qb 101, bread and butter play and he wiffs it 8 out of 10 times.

this isnt a moore will beat out henne post as sparano is riding him to the nfl grave, just stating the guys talents and looking like he is playing at the 2009 level. again........ GOOD FOR US!!!

Maybe Daboll wasn't a terrible hire after all? Time will tell. He seems physically and emotionally invested in the offense, that cannot be a bad thing.

Yeah nothing wrong seeing fire and energy from a coordinator. Its a challenge to improve this O. Good to see a coach actively accept the challenge head on.

Yep surprised....but it's something about Henne to Marshall, the connection isn't there. Also did Benny Sapp get secretly cut? Haven't heard anything on him in camp.

I saw cleveland play a few times last year and thought their offense was good, they beat up baltimore's defense but their defense was the problem.

not going to defend Daboll in Cleveland cause his offenses were bad, but Mangini's player decisions kind of sucked themselves. I got to see a lot of Cleveland games and really the only guys worth a damn on offense were Cribbs (who Daboll used in a lot of different ways), Ben Watson, Evan Moore (backup TE), and Peyton Hillis. Daboll did do a lot of different things to try and get mismatches, and sometimes it did work, but Mangini was horrible making roster decisions.

Plus, everything I've heard about Daboll is his players do like him.
