Dolphins Training Camp Report - Day 3

Chad Henne isn't a very good quarterback. None of this has anything to do with anyone's bias except the people that refuse to acknowledge it.

They drafted Pouncey with the 15th pick because they think he can play the pivot. You don't draft guards with the 15th pick.... not even these bozos.

Like I said before the draft, if these guys take Mike Pouncey with the 15th pick.. it's to play center, even though he's a natural left guard. So if he fails at center, at least they have a "quality" guard to show for their incredible talent evaluation and personnel skills.

As I mentioned in another thread, I like Omar's coverage of the fins usually, but he is definitely a Henne hater. I think as a reporter he needs to be more objective in his reporting. His tweets are along the lines of "Chad Henne just hit Brandon Marshall on a simple slant during 11-on-11. Fans clap, excited about a completed pass." and "Chad Henne just hit Anthony Fasano in the seam for a 20-yard gain. Robot celebrates. Emotion chip is working.". I think as a writer, these types of comments are irresponsible reporting.

Exactly . . . I don't mind you wanting an upgrade at the QB position, but the only people that are going to be enlighted by his reporting are the ones who want Henne gone . . . isn't the real goal to report w/o biast the results of Chad Henne instead of pouncing on everything he does bad. Trust me, everybody in the league is going through bad throws right now . . . it is literally day 3 of a camp and a new offense. He also thinks Charles Clay is going to be a stud and Roberto Wallace is Brandon Marshall . . . I mean Omar get real, these guys don't even have pads on.

Fair enough - but that pick for a C/G at 15 still doesn't make sense BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE A QB.

So at 15 we were left with Mallet (who fell to round 3), Dalton and Kaepernick . . . even if you reach for these guys who ended up being 2nd and 3rd rounders you still don't know if the guys in charge have the capability to develop them into good QB's. They are better off getting a versatile interior lineman who can aid the next regime and allow that regime to make the selection at QB if it comes down to it.

Rumor has it that Jake Locker was the #1 QB on their board . . . I personally like Jake Locker, but it is asking alot to expect he would be ready at this juncture, if he fell to us and we picked him. Either way, a rookie QB wasn't going to make a big impact this season. This regime has had their chances to get a QB and have failed, so why cripple more draft pick to save them?

I'm still interested in bringing in Orton, but not at a price that will effect the draft picks for next season in an attempt to trade up. Atleast Mike Pouncey will be a solid player going forward.

Well, they're saying former Giants center Sean O'Hara was seen at Phins camp today and is expected to sign. So maybe they drafted Pouncey as a guard - although Ireland said he was a center - although we know he's had struggles with snapping - and although Daboll didn't have the playbook ready for him at draft time - and although Sparano mixes-and-matches the OL combos like a mad scientist.

Anyway - I guess we drafted a guard at 15th overall - if that makes you feel any better. And that would be a guard who's not supposed to be as good as his twin brother who was drafted at 18 to actually play C.

People tend to forget Maurkice was supposed to play RG for the Steelers last season, but the Steelers other option (Justin Hartwig) was flat out awful. That and Maurkice picked up the offense real quick. Ken La Vicka points out that Pouncey has looked good with snaps.

Of course, he also pointed out that Henne looks good and that he's dealing with some really bad drops today. BUT nobody will ever look at positive Henne news, especially when Omar and Armando (guys who this forum thinks suck as far as credibility goes) say Henne has struggled. BUt when guys like La Vicka say Henne looks solid, it gets ignored.

You'd probably be better off factoring polynomials by the truck load rather than trying to make sense out of the Bifecta my friend....

Hopefully we'll have O'Hara at center and Incognito just as bench depth.

Long-Pouncey-O'Hara-Jerry-Carey is probably our best chance for a decent OL.

Not enough first rounders... we need five of them on the line.

As you know, first round Olinemen are INFINITELY more important to a SB run than a QB.

Exactly . . . Armando and Omar rather be correct on scoops so sites like PFT can say "they predicted" than reporting truthfulness on the field. But like you said the opinion of others who report anything good with Henne/Pouncey will continue to go ignored because of the agenda of not wanting those guys being the main point. I'm expecting good stuff and bad stuff from both . . . it is only day 3 and all.

Omar's problem with Henne and maybe Pouncey is that, unless you write about their limitations, they don't make good copy. I seem to rememberhe didn't think Long was a good prospect for LT either. Pouncey will just gave to shut Omar up with his play like Long did. And Mike's twin started as a guard last year in training camp before moving to center. If he starts at guard and is later moved to center, that would not indicate he was a bust.

That would take Henne/Moore out of the equation...

MISI-DRESSING:

MAT MOORE didnt even play today!! it was henne, devlin and bradstetter. throwing him out before he even plays?

your name should be MIS-LEADING!!!

omar is not a good reporter, the guy is a clown

They both did the blog . . . trust me, I heard the radio show yesterday, Omar has a definite ****iness and he has NOTHING positive to say about Henne, never has, and he would rather hope Henne falls flat on his face instead of being unbiast with his opinion. He EVEN admitted that he thought Pouncey was terrible, told everybody he sucked, had some REAL analysts show him some film and "flip flopped" on Pouncey and blamed his "University of Florida" biast for his original opinion. Trust me, Omar has no clue what he is talking about and Andrew Carter has to be influenced by his nonsense every day.

Bro to be fair, if theres nothing positive to say you dont say anything positive....Henne has done absolutely nothing to talk about infact he deserves very strong critisim..Henne isnt Marino.
