It's finally here... Dolphins Training Camp 2007! I don't think I have been this excited about a new season for quite some time. With all of the changes this team has implemented, from the coaching staff to the players, there seems to be a new energy around Dolphins camp.
This thread is not just about training camp. It's not just about the 2007 season. Instead, it is about the steps taken this offseason to build that "new energy." Listed below is just about every single transaction, announcement, breaking news story, etc. that involved the Dolphins from the end of the 2006 season to present day. It took me a lot of time to compile this list (thanks, Google).
What intrigues me the most is recalling the posts on this site, as well as others. I remember the overwhelming suspense swirling around the coaching search. Then, there was the cutting/trading of players (Randy McMichael, Wes Welker, etc.). Ah, the outrage from some of you was as entertaining as it was confusing. Free agency then reared its head and the addition of Joey Porter made many, many fans happy. David Martin? Uh, not so much. Of course, one can't forget the NFL Draft. "Quinn to Miami at #9" was slowly becoming the headline of the draft until "...with the ninth pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Ted Ginn, wide receiver, Ohio State." In hindsight, though, you could say that the Dolphins had the greatest draft in a long time. The team did suffer from PR "black eyes" with Porter, Evans, Campbell and Chambers all getting into legal trouble. Nonetheless, the dawn of a new season is here.
So, without further ado, here is the (recent) history:
