A few days ago, PFF identified their "10 Defensive UDFAs to Like," (they also posted a "10 Offensive UDFAs to Like" article) with two Dolphins signings making the list.

Zach Vigil, LB, Utah State, Miami Dolphins
Utah State’s Vigil was out second-highest graded linebacker in this class, with two eye-popping performances against Wake Forest and Air Force standing out. His work against the run was his calling card, finishing the year with a Run Stop Percentage of 12.9%, 10th in the class, while his total of 58 tackles resulting in defensive stops against the run was bettered only by TCU’s Paul Dawson.
Mike Hull, LB, Penn State, Miami Dolphins
Another linebacker who impressed against the run, Penn State’s Hull finished the year with a Run Stop Percentage of 13.1%, the seventh-best mark in this class, on his way to finishing 12th overall in our linebacker grades. He wasn’t just limited to standing out against the run, though, with his Yards Allowed Per Coverage Snap average a mere 0.31 yards, also the seventh-best in the class.

Two run-stuffing linebackers who graded well against the rest of the country. Sounds like exactly the kind of players Miami needs to add. They will likely need time to continue to develop, but, if they can show enough in minicamp and training camp, perhaps both Vigil and Hill can provide solid depth at the position, contribute on special teams, and eventually begin looking to compete for a starting role

Good we have them to develop. I would Der how they rate against Tripp, another under the radar guy who hasn't really done anything yet.

With these two and Tripp I have some optimism for this group, throw in Luc too. If we still had our old LB coach I'd feel really good about them though :(

Did you read the "Finding value in the 5th round"?

Jay Ayaji, HB, Miami Dolphins

Had the dreaded injury red flag drop him down draft boards, but at some point you have to accept that he’s great value. I mean how many fifth-rounders go onto make it to their second contract having made an impact with their first? Ajayi isn’t much of a blocker right now but finished sixth in the nation with 51 forced missed tackles and has the ability to get vertical quickly after his cuts.

Tony Lippett, CB/WR, Miami Dolphins

Drafted to play corner, Lippett is a really intriguing guy. As a wide receiver he reminds me a little of Stevie Johnson because he wins routes in a way you don’t expect him to win. That constant winning had him get the fifth-highest receiving grade (from a production point of view) of all FBS receivers who were draft eligible. As a cornerback he only played 88 snaps but earned positive grades against both Rutgers and Penn State with his stat line reading, thrown at nine times, three receptions allowed and four pass breakups.

Pretty good stat line for Lippett on defense.
