Dolphins unhappy with Kory Sheets, Hold tryouts for some runningbacks

Lendale White has a lot of talent as a between the tackles runner if he could ever get motivated. He sledgehammered Texas' defense in the Rose Bowl (aside from that 4th and 1 play) and if USC had won, he probably would have been the MVP of that game. I personally had a higher grade on him than I had on Reggie Bush (though in my defense, I wasn't aware of the full extent of his turd-like mentality). I still think he has more pure talent for the NFL than Bush.

Looking at FinAtic's list, White is really the most intriguing combination of age and talent (reuniting him with Bush might also prove fruitful, though I don't know how well they got along at USC). I thought Maroney had the talent to be a star but the guy is just too much of a *****, it turns out. He shies away from contact. A guy like Kevin Smith is a try hard player but he never had much physical ability to begin with and who knows how much that injury robbed him of. Mike Hart and Kenneth Darby are try hard character guys who just don't have the size or the talent to run the football in the NFL. If I'm not mistaken, Hart already accepted a coaching job somewhere. Deshawn Wynn is like a poor man's Lendale White. The guy has had major character issues going back to his time at Florida, but... he at least has talent with the football in his hands, unlike most of the guys on the list (5.2 career YPC). Guys like Barber, Portis, Rhodes, Westbrook and Buckhalter are just too ****ing old. I'll go to my grave thinking that Fred Taylor had as much talent for running the football as any back I've ever seen, but again, in football terms, the guy was born in ancient Sumeria.

Some decent drafted RBs are going to be put on teams' practice squads, because there just hasn't been time to evaluate them. I don't think we should jump the gun on filling Sheets' spot

Loyality is demanded by this current regime and the Dolphins probably figured Ricky wasn't into that. I guess if you are going down with the ship you prefer to have your guys with you. Ricky was never one of Tony's guys.

I was just saying this yesterday.. No way he makes the team as he has shown absolutely nothing not only this preseason, but his entire tenure in Miami.. Even funnier were the people on this board clamoring him to be the next great Dolphin's runningback, because he is fast. I still have yet to see him run, fast. Much rather give his roster spot to Grigsby.

Looks like the old timers club of running backs.

Hershal Walker still available? we seem to like checking out old RBs.

and I wouldn't doubt he could suit up and play
Not in bad shape for his age

It still amazes me how so many on Finheaven calls Omar an idiot but still rely on him for information.

If Omar says the Dolphins are not pleased with Sheets then it must be true. :rolleyes2:

Maybe Omar is not such an idiot afterall. Especially if he can get so many here at Finheaven to believe what he says.

I still don't know why some people were talking about this guy since last season like he was going to be the next Hester...

I haven't been impressed with Sheets. I'd like to see Hilliard and Grigsby get some more touches in the preseason and really see which one of them has the goods to be our 3rd RB.

Im actually surprised he hasnt been cut yet. Maybe he gets one more preseason game to show something, anything.
