1-Rishard Matthews
has been seemingly running an out-route in Miami for the past year. Last August, a
report surfaced that the Dolphins were "open to trading" Matthews; they liked him enough to keep him on the roster, but not enough to ignore trade offers. Fast forward roughly six months, and it was Matthews who was asking to be traded, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

2-Mike Gillislee
The hometown fairy tale could be coming to an end for third-year running back Mike Gillislee, whose 2014 season ended before it began with a hamstring injury that landed him on injured reserve.

3-Dallas Thomas
Thomas was one of the worst guards in football last year, grading out at No. 58 out of 78 qualifying guards, according to
Pro Football Focus. The Dolphins just drafted yet another guard in the fourth round, Arizona State's Jamil Douglas, and there's a strong case to be made for the rookie to start on the Dolphins' offensive front. If Douglas starts at one spot and Turner starts at the other, Thomas—once perceived as a front-runner to start—could be searching for work elsewhere.

4-Will Davis

With Grimes, Taylor, the McCains, Bowman and Aikens, the Dolphins are already at six cornerbacks. There's a good chance that one of those six will not be kept. Add Davis to that list, and you can see why a crowded cornerback depth chart could lead to Davis feeling the squeeze.

5-Earl Mitchell

Mitchell has never been more than a part-time player in any defense; according to Pro Football Focus, he earned a career-high 553 snaps for the Houston Texans in 2013 and played 543 snaps for the Dolphins in 2014.
With their selection of Oklahoma defensive tackle Jordan Phillips in the second round of the draft, the Dolphins have given themselves an insurance policy in the event that Mitchell doesn't do enough to earn his spot on the roster this offseason.

Add Koa Misi, to hat lists

bye bye mike gillislee...2 years overdue

bye bye will davis unless you beast on specials...the only good thing for will davis is that miami doesnt have many boundary options at cb

No way we dump Earl Mitchell. You don't dump cheap DT depth, especially when you don't know how the rookie will play out, even given the enormous potential.

Rishard Matthews depends on how many receivers they keep. If they decide to keep 5, he's fine.

Earl Mitchell getting cut? Negative.

add Koa Misi to the list?? Misi is not going anywhere this year, I would put money on it. Neither is Mitchell.

Agreed. Earl Mitchell isn't going anywhere and Davis may be spared due to numbers.

Honestly don't think any of those players are getting cut except Gillislee .... maybe Davis. Thomas may lose a starting spot but he stays because of his versatility.

Earl Mitchell and Koa Misi? Uh, no. One provides good depth at a position that always needs it and the other is our only possible MLB, unless you are actually comfortable rolling with a bunch of UDFAs with no veteran depth, which is crazy.

You can put Taylor on the list too. I have seen more out of Davis than I have Taylor. Also, Hazel can pretty much get his walking papers now...

Gillislee seems likely. I can't see him beating out Ayaji and/or Damien Williams. Williams has shown a good amount of promise last year, and Ayaji is a highlight reel everyone's waiting to see. I don't seem them keeping more than 3 RB's with the large amount of WR's and TE's Lazor may want to bring into the fold.

Will Davis is going to have to bust ass, I think he's a goner too. Pats will pick him up and interrogate, lol.

Mitchell is in a rotation at NT or DT, and is not going to see the snaps of other positions. He would save $3M on the cap with no one close to better to spend it on, and we do not need the money.

Matthews is cheap insurance as a #5 but, could now be traded for a late round pick.

Don't care about Gillessie.

Dallas is cheap and may start. No reason to move him. At OG, Pounjcey was #69, and Colledge was #75.

I think Davis is safe for now as a boundary cover, our weakest link.

Not a remote chance on Misi. We need LB's with him.

Agreed! Too cheap too good to lose

Mitchell's not going anywhere. Add Lippett to the CB list on the roster and Will Davis' tenure is even more in danger. Gillislee is as good as gone...he's just a camp body at this point.

As bad as Dallas Thomas is I don't see us getting rid of him because the depth on the interior of our O-line still sucks. Unless the two no-name Guards we signed just totally outplay him he's making the roster.

I totally disagree. When jamar taylor was healthy he played extremely well.

light years past what will davis has ever done in an actual game (training camp int's don't do it for me).

maybe re-watch jamar taylor's highlights from last year.

As much as I like Taylor, last year he played 300 snaps and was around average, not a bad thing with his first time playing. If we went by highlight, everyone would be All Pro. :)
