Don’t attribute the Dolphins’ 38-14 victory over Oakland to responding to adversity.
The Dolphins certainly showed they can thrive with relative chaos going on around them. But that’s not why they won.
Sunday showed how this team is built to play.
No one rushed for 100 yards, or had 100 yards receiving, or had three sacks.
Everything worked together. The units – offense, defense and special teams -- finally complemented each other.
Sunday’s performance should be a baseline for what this team does every week.
OK, a general baseline.
You can’t expect quarterback Ryan Tannehill to complete 14 consecutive passes every game. You can’t expect him to go 23-for-31 (74.2 percent) passing.
And the Dolphins left two touchdowns on the field.
But you get the idea.
Tannehill, now in his third season, should be as sharp and confident as he was Sunday. The deep ball to wide receiver Brian Hartline was a thing of beauty. All day long he showed touch and accuracy on the short and intermediate passes.

No one, except maybe Tannehill, had a can-you-believe-it type performance. Perhaps you include the offensive line in that category. They cleared the way for 157 yards rushing and allowed no sacks.
Still, in general, this was everyone doing their thing, very few doing the unexpected.
Special teams still has some work to do.
And there were plenty of errors.
