Don’t attribute the Dolphins’ 38-14 victory over Oakland to responding to adversity.

The Dolphins certainly showed they can thrive with relative chaos going on around them. But that’s not why they won.

Sunday showed how this team is built to play.

No one rushed for 100 yards, or had 100 yards receiving, or had three sacks.

Everything worked together. The units – offense, defense and special teams -- finally complemented each other.

Sunday’s performance should be a baseline for what this team does every week.

OK, a general baseline.

You can’t expect quarterback Ryan Tannehill to complete 14 consecutive passes every game. You can’t expect him to go 23-for-31 (74.2 percent) passing.

And the Dolphins left two touchdowns on the field.

But you get the idea.

Tannehill, now in his third season, should be as sharp and confident as he was Sunday. The deep ball to wide receiver Brian Hartline was a thing of beauty. All day long he showed touch and accuracy on the short and intermediate passes.
This was the type of game that, if repeated, could get the Dolphins to the playoffs.

No one, except maybe Tannehill, had a can-you-believe-it type performance. Perhaps you include the offensive line in that category. They cleared the way for 157 yards rushing and allowed no sacks.

Still, in general, this was everyone doing their thing, very few doing the unexpected.

Special teams still has some work to do.

And there were plenty of errors.

When this team plays together and executes we win. Play hard and determined and we can go a long way.
Cut down the turnovers and we can be really good. Only if the team can be consistent week in and out to want to whoop whoever, wherever.
So much better watching when we are playing like a real NFL team.

I love it and I wish it were true. This game shows what's possible when RT has Time to throw ( he looked pretty solid) L.Miller was tiptoeing through massive holes ( Raiders) and the defense was pick happy ( RaidErs. Man I wish we played them every week.

Good job updating the front page Daytona. Smart move to skip over the KC loss

I think the first four weeks have shown that we are a running football team. This system has turned Lamar Miller into a 5.7 ypc back (24 yard long) and DT into a competent looking RB. Miller is 5th in the NFL in rushing and we are 5th as a team. There is no reason this team should have to throw the football 40+ times, we should be looking to run early and often. If we get behind, we shouldn't panic we should continue to run because we are having amazing success.

What are you saying? The Dolphins are their own worst enemy?

Sweet we can play the raiders every week?

Its groundhog day?

Just like the Eagles, this offense excels at running the ball when we are successful spreading field. This game was very similar to our win versus the Patriots. The question is what went wrong with the games versus the Bills and the Chiefs.

I've been waiting to see that for two years. The system only works well when offense and defense are in concert with each other. Even with average to bad QB play we've proven we can still hang but that is what our teams is supposed to look like with good QB play. And even that was pretty sloppy if you think about it, we could have scored 50 easy. If Tannehill can string a few of these together our offense can be a major concern for opposing defensive coordinators.
