I like Miami to win the game, but I think KC is very dangerous right now. Ultimately the reason I like Miami comes down to the matchups and the injuries to the Chiefs.

KC has a struggling offensive line, similar to what we played in week one.

KC has struggled to run the ball. Alex Smith has had success scrambling, but he isn't a freak athlete like a Kaepernick, and we should be able to limit the amount of damage he can do to us there. Their most dynamic player, the one guy I'm extremely worried about, Jamaal Charles, is either going to be playing with a busted ankle or out altogether.

Their best pass catching threat has been a 6'5" tight end, Kelce. I see him as someone we can gameplan for by bumping him off the line of scrimmage and really just impeding his ability to get out and run routes, giving our pass rushers time to get home.

Their secondary has holes we can exploit and their run defense has not been great (giving up 4.5 ypc).

If the Dolphins show up and play a good game, I really like our chances. I am certainly not predicting a blowout, nor will I be surprised if KC comes out and plays an intense, focused football game while Miami comes out looking like death warmed over and stinks up the place. But that's a concern every week -- even against Oakland -- and I like the matchups.

Quit straying off topic dammit! This thread is about BBQ... Oh? It's not?... Well I'll be... As you were, sir.

For some reason they've been using Kelce quite sparingly. I'm not sure if he's struggling with the playbook or what but, in my opinion, Kelce isn't getting the playing time that his talent deserves. Surely it's not because he can't push Fasano for the number 1 spot. IDK... With our sometime complete ineptitude at covering TE's, he could be a significant threat to us.

Let's start by saying I don't think we're as bad as we looked against Buffalo. I said all week last week that we either kill them or lay an egg. We laid an egg. That being said there were signs to be concerned by.

Even then, teams that looked great week 1 looked awful week 2 and teams that looked awful week 1 looked great week 2. It's still early to say what kind of team we are. It is cool to be concerned with Ryan Tannehill's accuracy (especially with what is looking like a complete inability to be able to hit runningbacks out of the backfield), as well as Lamar Miller just not being able to catch period, but the doom and gloom is a bit much.

The Chiefs aren't healthy but they are a well coached team. Hopefully the ST play is much better this week, same with the zone coverage that gave up too many chunk yards.

Being in Miami I'm predicting a win. Let's put last week behind us and just look forward

Post some food porn and it gets everyone off topic...

I pick Miami this game, but like almost all games this season, it's going to rest on Tannehill. He needs to have a clean game.
WR's may drop balls, but if he gets it accurate enough, there should be less drops. I think KC has good CB's though if I'm not mistaken (not Sean Smith, haha)
Same with OLine. Protection may not always be good, but if he can move in the pocket and get the ball out soon, protection becomes less of an issue.

Will be interesting seeing D.Williams and possibly Darkwa. I'm just about over Miller; he has to improve his routes/catching game a lot if he wants to do well in this offense.

I think this one comes down to coaching, and Reed has the obvious advantage there. I don't forsee him allowing his squad to lose three in a row, unfortunately.

I'm going to tell you what our worst decision is going to be in this game:

Having it at 4pm and wearing aqua instead of 1pm wearing white.

That's all.

Yeah, that 4 pm time slot sucks....

Did they decide on Aqua?

Yes. Terrible decision. I can't even fathom why you wouldn't make the other team wear their darks at 1pm. Just pissing away HFA.

I wondered if that was the rationale behind the aqua out promotion. Naturally if the fans are asked to wear aqua you can't have the players in white.

Agreed, dumb decision. Last weekend the Canes made a similar bonehead move by wearing dark green tops and trousers in a 3:30 PM kickoff, but they had some margin as a 16.5 point favorite over Arkansas State.

Both Miami teams should wear white for all day games through at least the first half of the season, if not later.

Chiefs were the healthiest team in the league last year. Now that has reversed in a big way. I generally don't pay too much attention to injuries. When they come in bunches in one unit obviously there's impact. We may be very fortunate in the timing of this game, unlike last week on the road against FAR.

I virtually never visit opposing boards. But I remembered I registered and posted on Chiefs Planet a few years ago, when they upset Green Bay very late in the year to ruin the Packer's unbeaten season. People forget how close that got. They were 13-0 if I remember correctly. Chiefs fans hated that Dolphin fans were pleased. It was obvious they still haven't gotten over the Christmas Day game in 1971.

Last night I went back to Chiefs Planet for the first time in 3 years. Very interesting and familiar. There was a thread calling Andy Reid an idiot, another one saying Dee Ford was a wasted pick, another one asserting that Alex Smith sucks and will always suck. Etcetera and etcetera. Not much different than here after a loss. I did see one guy saying he cried all night after that Christmas Day loss and his dad scolded him. I almost posted that it was the greatest Christmas ever, but I backed off.

It was intriguing to read their views of the Dolphins. Apparently we own them, so to speak. Lots of comments about that, and therefore some pessimism toward this week. The game thread basically said Tannehill is just another guy back there and the Chiefs are fortunate not to be facing an accurate passer. They expected drama this week from Brandon Albert. It's obvious he is not highly regarded in that fanbase, but it seemed personality based and not performance based.

Anyway, this is the type of Crowd vs. Crowd game in which I'll take +4 or higher with the road team, if available, with no other thought required. I'm trying to grind 570 among 1000 along investment lines, not nitpick 2014 Chiefs vs. 2014 Dolphins in week three. Current line is Dolphins -4.5.

Its early but the Chiefs are ranked 32nd in defense DVOA (playing the Broncos probably didn't help). The Dolphins were 7-1 against teams outside the top 12 in defense DVOA last season, and they have a pretty good record against the spread at SunLife, and Tannehill plays quite a bit better at SunLife. Alex Smith is a cornered animal right now though and he could do a lot of damage with his legs.

If we still had Moreno I would say we should crush them but where is that void in intensity going to come from?
