Dolphins want 1st round pick for Taylor?

Man it would be a dream come true if we were able to get both Jake Long and Vernon Gholston!

I know it's highly unlikely, but that is the only thing I would consider in trading for JT.

Yah it would, but Gholston will be gone by the middle of the round. Still would be sweet to get any top level CB or DE, getting 2 first rounders and then picking early in the 2nd round would be incredible.

I have a feeling they would have to include one of their 2nd round pics with the JT trade though.

I don't see us getting a 1st rounder for JT. Not in our wildest dreams. I don't think anyone is that desperate. Of course, you ask high first when you start negotiating. I think realistically we should be able to get a 2nd, and a 4th or a 5th. The only way I see us getting back to the first round is bundling JT with an additional draft choice... which i really wouldnt want to see us do.

I Could See Us Trading JT To The Giants For Their First Round Pick... JT Would Make That Giants D-Line UNSTOPPABLE...

they start 4 DEs on their d-line, i dont think they need another one.. plus strahan might soon retire, and i dont think they want another old player..

I see the exact opposite. Why would they trade their 1st round pick for someone who will only be around 2 possibly 3 years when they can draft someone who will be around 10-12? They just won the Super Bowl.

the cheifs got 3 picks for allen the should be able to get a low 1st or high 2nd and a couple latepicks for JT.

You start off negotiations high in any situation.

If you want a second for him you ask for a first.
You don't start off lowballing the proceedings.

I believe he'll end up being moved for a 2nd rounder and I hope they get it done. JT does nothing for this franchise long term. By the time we rebuild he'll be ready for retirement or worse he could be leaving the NFL altogether soon for a hollywood career. Get something form him NOW. He gets a fresh start with a team that could contend immediately while we get a young prospect to grow with the rebuilding team.

Agree, although I don't see any A-list parts coming JT's way down the road as an actor.

I think it will end up being a 2nd and a 4th...something like that.

No team i their tight mind would give a first round pcik for JT as his current age. Like trying to sell a used car for its original price. never happen.

Jared Allen turned 26 three weeks ago and he led the league in sacks last year. Jason Taylor will be 34 by the time the season starts. I know Jason Taylor has showed no signs of slowing down, as his skills have not erroded at all, but the fact that he is 8 years older than Allen is too much to believe the Dolphins would be able to get equal compensation for Taylor. I think that if the Dolphins were going to trade Taylor, they should have traded him last off season because they probly couldve gotten a 1st round pick for him then. At this point I would take a 2nd and a late draft pick for him, but I dont think there is anyhing wrong with keeping him because at the end of the day he will still be the Dolphins best player on defense.

You never know when another "Broken Arrow" film is going to come down the Pike with a director looking to take advantage of a sports star in some supporting role. Also there's no accounting for the affects of ego on someone's decisions. Who knows how "fly" JT thinks he is in his own mind.
He may be under the impression that he's the next Denzel Wasington.

I agree with you on the picks. A 2nd and a 4th as well.
Those were the rumblings we had heard in earlier reports.

see i thought about the giants too .. for some reason that makes sense to me .. especially with strahan in limbo .. unless i missed something

I really like JT he has been a great dolphin and I would hate to see him go but.... He could really help put a team over the top somebody who is close drafting at the end of the first round. He is one year removed from Defensive player of the year. I think a trade with cowboys is possible. They have two first round picks the latter trade might be possible. The Cowboys would get a hell of a player who skill have not yet delcined, he could hook up with Zach again, and they may get that elusive ring together. The dolphs would get a second pick in the first round. Win win
