The Miami Herald reports Dolphins HC Tony Sparano had a confession to make about DE Jason Taylor. ''I've got to be honest with you,'' Sparano said, speaking to reporters for only the third time since he was hired. ''I have seen him [dance] one time, and I was quite impressed. He moves his feet pretty well.'' During an hour-long breakfast Tuesday at the annual owners meetings in Palm Beach, Sparano at least managed to publicly quell any perception that the team remains agitated by Taylor's decision to put football on hold while he dances. He also attempted to make something else known about his star player: This team wants Taylor. ''There's no question about it,'' Sparano said. ''Having Jason Taylor on our team makes us a better team. At the end of the process, we want good players. And Jason is a good player in our league. I just know, by having to game plan against this team last year [while coaching for the Cowboys], he's a guy you've got to find on the field.'' Taylor appears likely to remain in Miami because the offers for a player who will turn 34 this year are not likely to be very high. Even the Jaguars -- who appear at this point to be the team with the most interest in Taylor -- are believed to be willing to give up only a third-round pick. The Dolphins likely would only take a first-round choice or an early second-rounder for him.
