This game mattered. Can we agree to that right from the top?

I know you want to argue about that. I know you have mostly abandoned hope for the 2017 Miami Dolphins and what you mostly care about now is free agency next spring — and the 2018 draft. You care about who is getting cut to improve salary-cap room next season.

But this Miami Dolphins 35-9 victory over the Denver Broncos mattered because it addressed issues right now and could have repercussions that will ripple into next season.

And perhaps seasons to come.

I do agree! The staff was reeling, it’s nice to see them put something together. I dont get caught up in wanting the team to tank. The coaches and player WILL NOT TRY TO LOSE because there’s not necessarily something in it for all of them. How many Super Bowls have the Colts won since they sucked for Luck? The way finheaven was acting in 2011 you’d figure that number was much closer to 5 than ZERO.

it might matter to some but I just hope that Ross won't think that we just turned the corner. I want t-baum and Grier gone and beating a horrible team that has now lost 8 games in a row with a horrible offense and QB situation plus missing several starters on defense is not going to change my mind. We've seen this team do this(win a game like this one)just to lay an egg the next week so while some people here are jumping up and down as if we just won the super bowl, I'm staying grounded and will wait to see how they do next week when they play NE. Sorry but this team does not deserve the benefit of the doubt till they prove they belong by winning games that actually matter

Ozzy rules!!

I agree with you but all I want to see is HOPE from some young and newer players etc that will be here next year and beyond. We need that as an organization, that we have some players that are going to be here and be ok with them as part of the roster makeup.

If we close the year and say ok a Davis, Mccain, Howard, Phillips, Drake and the young 2 dl etc are going to be part if the plan its important as opposed to the whole roster is a dumpster fire.

Exactly, much to finheaven’s shigrin we cant replace everyone.

I still am hoping Eric Smith can get back this year to see what he has to offer. Davis is already a keeper but if Smith turns into something as well, that would go a long long way into the 2018 offseason.

oh I totally agree with that.I actually said before the game that the only reason I was watching today was to see the young guys out there. We need to find out if we can count on guys like Davis and Anthony and Howard and Tank and the two DT's plus Phillips and lets not forget our first round pick who has NOT play like a first round pick. We really need Harris to show us something more than just hard work and hustle. I just meant I don't want to pretend that all is well just because we beat a horrible team that was short handed but there's plenty of reason to still watch the games. At this point I am looking forward to who can help us next year and beyond.

Imagine if we could say we have Davis, Smith and Brendel good to go for 2018 along with some of the younger players mentioned

Even if two of those 3 can start and be solid for us it's a big win. Davis at RT and Brendel at Center gives us about 17mill of cap space then we just need two guards. Would be nice if Asiata could be one of them or Davis at RG and Smith at RT then all we need is a LG because Larsen is not it. Anthony as a starter along with RM and all we need is one more LB. That would really plug some holes.

Yup and I keep not referencing Asiata in these scenarios, as FFC pointed out to me previously, but I just cant even entertain the thought yet since he cant or isint acitve

If he can play next year and be effective, I will just consider it a bonus.

Yeah the best thing to take from this game is that many of the young guys showed up and produced. Which means the team can cut ties with some overpaid past their prime guys at the end of the season. Use the freed up cap space to fill some holes. Team needs to get younger, tougher, smarter and faster.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I 100% agree with Mando. This is why you play to win when the season is lost, even if you drop a fee draft spots.

Come on. Denver is terrible. One of the few teams with worse QB play than the Dolphins. Taking encouragement from this is potentially dangerous. But don't worry, we have to play real teams the rest of the way...
