Dolphins will defintely add a RB

Skanky...good fit on south beach?

Um.....Yea. We dont need an 1800 rusher on the team. We need a power guy who can break tackles, gain that short yardage first down, block, pick up the blitz and catch. MJD does all of that. How is he a bad option? Yea he had a down year last year... on the worst offensive team in the league, with a horrible line and QB and just overall bad offense.

He would be a great addition to our team and is exactly the type of HB we need.

Its been three yrs since MJD did that.....it a risk that we don't need to take at this point, if we strike out with other options and the draft and it's late June, ok give him a shot not now......linsfranc surgery is no joke for an athlete especially a RB he will be a plan b at best.....

Sign me up for Jones-Drew
Has only averaged a little over 200 carries per year in his career. Had 7 runs of 20+ yards last year. Of his 26 run attempts inside the opponents 20 yard line last year he had 5 touchdowns.
Is excellent coming out of the backfield as a receiver, averaged 7.3 ypc last year......light years better than anything we got now.
For what little need the Dolphins might have for short yardage situations just use Clay or get a better running fullback.
Drew weighs 210lbs and is built like a bowling ball, plus you get great pass blocking from the running back position.

Other than 2012 he hasnt really had any injuries and the foot injury is healed now. Guy ran 4.39 at the combine, he is no spring chicken anymore but would guess he still has his quickness getting that 7.3 ypc out of backfield

Jacksonville had no one blocking for him last year, they were awful and they got rid of Monroe, did it all on his own as they had no passing game either.

I could be wrong but from an investment standpoint this is low risk, high reward.

My two cents...Go Fish

People still talk about MJD and Chris Johnson like there still then players they were years ago. Seriously, have you guys watched them recently?

Don't want my FA RB coming off the worst yr of his career l yr removed from lisfrac surgery who will be 30 in a yr.....I would only take a chance on him if he was already on my team....lets fix the position for 3yrs instead of a poor 1 yr maybe fix.....I love MJD but not to be my lead back at this point in his career, not worth the risk.....

Low risk high reward. Coming off his worst year where he got ZERO help, you've got to consider the supporting cast...regardless he's been highly durable throughout his career and still runs with good burst. High upside for cheap and at the very least an elite pass protector. Who do you propose? Outside of maybe Ben Tate I don't see any long term fixes and the draft is weak, especially with so much low character guys who won't be on our board.

Yes on the MJD front.

Realize we still need a starting corner and 3 more olinemen. Realistically you're only going to get two sure fire starters in the draft (the first two rounds). If you want to add RB to that too, thats 5 positions of need. In other words, for me to be comfortable spending a second round pick on a running back, we will need to sign 3 more free agents. 3 guys from DRC/Patterson/Thurmond/Browner/Cromartie and Strief/Shelley/Joseph/Penn

My sleeper back is Rajion Neal from Tennessee. He's going be a late round pick but has everything you need in a back. He doesn't have elite speed, but he's fast enough and runs hard for a 210 pound back. Tate, Miller, Wilder and Neal would make a decent corp of backs.

Two things crossing my mind reading through this thread:
- Where did Mando get his information from? "A source close to the Dolphins"? Did he pull it out of his ass? Did the Lord himself tell him? I will believe it when I see it.
- We're supposed to give MJD a pass for 2013 because he had no supporting cast, yet we think that Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas are busts because they couldn't run behind the worst line in the league? I know MJD has proven something in this league while our two RBs have not but who knows why he had a down year in 2013. It could have been his line but it also could be that he's not the same anymore. I only mention this because when we judge RBs we should apply the same standards.

They still cant block, catch or pick up short yards on 3rd or 4th down. MJD should be our guy.

MJD has been a great player on a lousy team for years. He's a tough little tank, incredible strength for his short height. Picking up the blitz, protecting Tannehill, would improve immediately. I still like Lamar Miller but he would come in to give MJD a rest and would probably learn a lot from a RB with MJD's experience.
If the doctors give MJD the green light, I'd welcome him.

How can people advocate paying Tate when he's been an injured backup his whole career? How is that the answer?

Blount or MJD for me maybe knowson if he takes less then he'd like
