Dolphins | Team not likely to pursue Law
Sun, 19 Feb 2006 06:36:59 -0800
Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports the Miami Dolphins are not likely to pursue CB Ty Law (Jets) when he becomes a free agent in March. Even with Law re-emerging as one of the top corners, it's difficult to envision Dolphins head coach Nick Saban spending that much money on a player the team already passed on signing in the 2005 when his contract demands were less exorbitant while he recovered from a serious foot injury. Law wants $10 million in guaranteed money in his new contract.

$10 million + want to be a team player and win a championship = BS

This may be true, but as I read it, it us nothing but a reporter speculating... how he gets away with saying that miami won't pursue him like he has a team source is beyond me...

Exactly, make up your mind Ty which is it.

Problem is that is PURE speculation on Marvez's part.
Notice how it says Dolphins are not likely to pursue Ty Law instead Dolphins will not pursue Ty Law. There's big difference.

That's a good point. I didn't even think about how this guy found out.

I'm sure Saban knows he can't keep everything on lockdown. Players call agents and agents get called by the media...lot harder than it is to seal info in college football.

I can't think of any teams that will give him that kind of money(then again, it's the offseason, so I'm not paying any attention), so he might approach Miami with a smaller, more amenable figure.

We're not paying him 10 million. Sorry Ty, you're good, but lower your price about 8 million.

yeah as sweet as unsweetend iced tea. ty law is old and that much cash is not a good investment. But on the flip side, he could give you knowledge of the defensive schemes of your afc east rivals, and that would help. Now that would be raw sugar. ( i am using analogies to dorsarols that would be sweet thing)

If he is so good, why are the Jets letting him go? They have what other stud corners? or is it Herm's system? Or was he a Herm guy?

Sheesh, is KC gonna sign him?

Well I guess Ronnie Brown is not a team player either since he held out to get paid.

It amazes me the reporters print this type of info when they supposedly can't get any info from Saban's fortress ( or at least that's what they complain about )...If Saban is letting this stuff 'leak' out, then it has a 50/50 of being a ruse or the real truth...I wouldn't take too much stock in it..

Selfish....wishy washy...questionable attitude...$10 mill in guaranteed money...32 years old. Wonder why we wouldn't want to sign him...hmmmmmm.
