Dolphins will only go after Manning if he is 100%

I'm not sold on the opinion of many that Flynn will get a huge contract. Im curious if there is a possibility that we could sign Flynn and Manning? First thought would be, why would he want to come here and be a backup, when he could stay with GB and do the same. But here, with Manning, he would be a kneck away from the starter. Plus Manning may only have a few years left. It's a dream thought but hell that's what makes the offseason fun.

I take an 80% Manning any day.

Unlike the NBA, this is the NFL, if he come in and can not play, then cut him. Whats the big deal??

I thought passing on Brees was the wrong decision. It was.

I think passing on Manning is the right decision. It will be.

Sign Peyton as soon as hes cut! this guy works harder then anyone, did you see his interview? he will be medically cleared and I know I know we dont trust what people tell us naturally. but this is Peyton! when has he ever lied before. superbowl bound in 2013

and I would like to point out the terms im suggesting to sign him to. sign him for 1 million with a 10 million dollar roster bonus for making it to the final roster or incentives when he hits so many games started. you dont have to pay him upfront

I hate Peyton as a Gator and Dolphin fan but if he even thinks he's healthy we have to go get him.

an unhealthy manning is better than most qbs that are healthy, i would take manning at 80 percent

Tough choice either way. I'd say if it was truly a case of him working hard gets him back onto the field in 2012, it would be a no-brainer. But this type of condition isn't just dependent on rehab and conditioning, it's time and the body healing itself and there's nothing "harder" you can do to guarantee or speed it up. How big of a risk/reward do you gamble on this? The upside is HUGE, but the downside could be that you have to wait and miss out on any F/A or high level draft pick you might have gone after if you didn't wait. And no, we realistically can't get either one of the top 2 QB's in the draft or Flynn and go for Manning. There's just not enough $ to go around. So it's pick your poison for the Fins and if this report is true, then we likely are going to go to other options, as there's no way he'll be near 100% by mid March.

As much as I love Peyton and everything he stands for, I think it has the potential to set us back years to take him. Paying big for past performances is almost always a recipe for failure. Look at Favre in NY, McNabb in Minnesota, and these guys weren't coming off severe nerve damage.

No amount of hard work, toughness, or attitude can make his nerve damage heal any faster or more than it's going to. He'll be 36, and then be gone in a year or two, leaving us starting over and again, no consistency. Building an offense around Peyton is not much different than building one around Tebow - he is the only one with the skill set to make that particular offense work, and when he's gone (injured or retired), you're starting over.

Hopefully, Philbin thinks Flynn is the real deal, and we can have our own young franchise qb again, rather than trying to rent someone's past glory.

i dont trust the miami herald. since when has the media gotten anything right? They dont know squat IMO. They just throw crap out there.

Ive heard supposedly that the fins wont even look Flynn's way and want PM all the way. I suppose that was just more crap thrown out there. I think media types in and outside miami dont really want manning here because they wouldnt be able to talk bad about the fins, which is their biggest thing.
